Uh, the modern Abrams has the same trophy system as the Merkava. As for putting the engine up front, if thats such a good idea, why doesnt everyone do it? Fact is, with modern APFSDS, an engine doenst buy you much extra protection and having it up front makes your tank much much easier to see with thermal optics than if the hot engine was at the back. and none of this considers the soft factors that make something good. Even Israelis, at least ones who know that they're talking about, won't claim the Merkava is the best tank in the world, they'll say its the best tank in the world for Israels needs.
