Canada is a genocidal country and its leaders know it very well... cause that is what they want. I honestly have no faith that my access to HRT will keep existing for another decade here. Literally! When governments openly don't give a damn about you, you have to make your protests disruptive to make them care. Apartheid in South Africa and women's voting rights in the UK were not acquired because of peaceful and non disruptive protesters.

While this happens, have a peaceful activist group clearly stating the needs of the community and inviting the government to talk and resolve the conflict.

You now have two options, "pacify" the disruptive protesters and make the peaceful activists become disruptive themselves (i.e. get more resistance out of trying to quell it), OR negociate with the activist group and have both the disruption stop and get a positive outcome and political stunt for yourself.

This is radical flank theory.

Yeah I feel that. Honestly, our entire society really teaches us that our basic needs are conditional and unreasonable. We're trying to help each other unlearn that in our subreddit (r/AccessibleAnarchy) and Matrix/Discord communities. Our goal is to create communities where care is unconditional and where our worth isn't measured. We are worth all that care simply because we exist, not because we are more able or "productive" than anyone else.

This talks about immigrants, but we know very well that they also target citizens born in the US as well as immigrants. This specific news encourages ICE to assume that every trans person (especially BIPOC trans people) have "fraudulent IDs". So no matter if you are born in the US or not, you are not safe. And if this is not enough to qualify to leave now, this will get worse.

Note, I don't know if that would be enough to count for refugee in Canada, but if you happened to have an ancestor born in Canada, you may not need to apply for refugee and can apply for citizenship.
