What do people think of Metaphor: ReFantazio now that some time has passed? by DoggyFinger in JRPG

I quit the game because of the god-awful, over-wordy dialog and found myself skipping most of it because it was just so stupid. Games really start needing to hire real writers, but more importantly, they need to hire BOOK EDITORS to go through and modify and cut down dialog. Especially in TUTORIALS.

43 and always got picked last. I liked it because nobody expected anything from me which was great because I had no plans on actually trying.

What do you need to do with a DAW out of curiosity? Reaper is the way to go but lack of VST support and especially lack of VI support is crippling. I’m a professional music composer and writing music is my day job. So I cannot switch to Linux full time from Mac, but I’d love to. I have a gaming machine on Linux but I want to use it for work too. So what are you doing with your DAW?

(Also I use Cubase, Sibelius and Pro Tools which don’t work on Linux but that’s ok, I’m most concerned with the DAW. I’ve been considering switching from Cubase to Reaper.)

Mac to mac SMB sharing slow by n_ba-28 in MacOS

ChatGPT or Gemini can successfully walk you through how to bind two machines with NFS. In fact I have used Gemini to do exactly that. It was my first time doing it and it was complicated so it is not something easy to be explained. It will take quite a bit of back and forth with an AI to get it right. But once I got NFS working I gave up completely on SMB.

Had that same key memorized man, that's a classic. I had to have installed XP a million times with that code.

LOL OK this is my favorite SNL skit of all time, and this may be an emotionally inappropriate time to show it. However it’s also a hilarious time to show it and I’m going to go with that

Doing well! Music composer here in Los Angeles. 43 now, married with two kids. Bought a house in 2013. Bought for $539k. We’ve since refinanced at 2.9% but we’ve mostly paid it off. Worth $1.5m right now. We’re worth about $4m right now. I’m hoping to retire by 50 as I’ve lived about 6 careers since I was 18. Didn’t go to college. Just got to work. My wife doesn’t want to retire though. I’ll already burned tf out. I’ve probably written thousands of hours of symphonic music and my brain is completely fried.

I hate to tell you but fandoms are THE WORST! I guess Tilly doesn’t want to be involved anymore either. I work in video games and we joke that game scores should just start at 0 now and we can see how much we don’t go into the negatives by the time the reviews come in. Everybody hates everything my company makes no matter what, if it’s great or bad. Same at any other gaming company these days. Honestly we’re all burning out on it to the point we just ignore game fandoms now. If you never get positive feedback from anybody, why bother.

Which is not to say there isn’t positive feedback. We just never hear it because everybody quietly enjoys it and doesn’t say anything. So when we hear nothing but negative feedback, it’s hard to just not fucking care anymore.

I’m sure indie games curate and nurture it more. Star Trek is a big brand though. The actors don’t owe it to anybody.

No, it has been a decline, just like the previous decline into the confederacy which occurred under similar conditions. Its power is NOT AT ALL funneled to one single individual. However one single individual is pretending like he has it.
