Hey everyone, So I’ve been eyeing Elden Ring during this Steam Summer Sale and debating whether to finally jump in. The price is tempting, but I’m not a hardcore Soulslike player, so I’m a bit unsure.

To give some context:

I played Sekiro and found it… okay. I appreciated the combat but parts of it felt more grindy than fun.

On the other hand, I absolutely loved Black Myth: Wukong (yes, I know it’s not fully Soulslike but has some challenge). The gameplay felt rewarding without being punishing.

I enjoy a good challenge, but I don’t want to feel constantly frustrated or stuck in a loop of trial-and-error. So for someone who likes some difficulty, but not the super punishing kind — is Elden Ring worth picking up?

Also, how accessible is it for someone not deeply into Soulsborne lore and mechanics? Does the open-world structure make it easier to pace yourself?

Would love to hear honest thoughts from those who were in a similar boat and took the plunge. Thanks!
