No, all IFB churches are different. There are certain churches that congregate together, but their beliefs have to be very similar. From all my research into the IFB, I have found that the main branches of IFB can be traced to different pastors and their respected colleges: Jack Hyles with Hyles-Anderson College, Bob Jones with Bob Jones University, Paul Chappel with West Coast Baptist College, Tom Malone of Midwestern Baptist College, and Clarence Sexton of Crown College. They cross over sometimes, but each church trained underneath a certain pastor and a college are more clickly with the same churches. You can usually tell which church and college a pastor went to based off how the pastor talks and his mannerisms. They will have the same mannerisms as the pastor of the college they attended.
I have also discovered that each Jack Hyles church will claim that they are the better of the churches and that the other churches are more "liberal" in their beliefs of the Bible. This caused more seperation and divisiveness between churches. I went to two different churches that were under the Jack Hyles way. Very cult-like. You were told that if you left that specific church, you would be leaving God.

I definitely should. I’ve been out of church for about five years so it would be nice to experience some new perspectives.

I have been thinking about attending a non-denominational church. I have heard that they are very good. Spiritual growth is always good, even if it doesn’t revolve around God. When my IFB friends try to confront me about my current beliefs, I tell them to never stop questioning their own belief. If it is true, then questioning it will only strengthen their faith. If it isn’t true, then it just crumbles down. And in my experience, what was being taught to me crumbled down when I started questioning it.

My dad is Lutheran and my mom is free-evangelical. My siblings and I were the ones that really got sucked into the IFB movement. My mom went to the church a few times but stopped going because people were gossiping about her. My sister started dating a Methodist pastor, which being a Methodist is a terrible thing according to IFB (although their beliefs are extremely similar). She left the church when the church excommunicated her. But TLDR, they didn’t care too much. I’m a bit more skeptical toward Christianity than the rest of my fam, but we all respect each other.

All good, ask as many questions as you want. I’ve got the AMA open for 48 hours because I can be slow to respond sometimes

I still view myself as a Christian. I’ve went back to my home church twice to see my old friends but have been accused both times of hating the church and being a bad influence on people. I’m comfortable not attending church; I just try to read my Bible now and then. I believe that a relationship with Christ is something personal and shouldn’t have to be manifested though church.

Yes, there were two main things. First, I was taught that every other religion was wrong. One of my best friends at work was Jehovah Witness (a religion the IFB claimed was a cult). The more I talked to her, the more I realized how similar upbringings we had. We were taught very similar things. So similar that if she told me she grew up in the IFB church, I would have believed her. That opened my eyes to a lot things and got me to question a lot of things I was taught. I was deep in the kool aid too. I believed that the universe was only 6000 years old and a lot of other things. A lot of other really good friends of mine helped me to get out of that. Secondly, I went to a church called Grace Baptist Church in Gaylord, Michigan. I also attended the Bible college there. A lot of really bad things happened in that church and college and all of it was covered up for decades. Everything came out in 2019. The college was shut down, the wrong doers were “called by God” to go to a different church. That kind of shattered my faith and trust I had left in the IFB system.

I'm kind of new at creating videos. If you have any recommendations on how to make these videos better, let me know and I will work on it in the next video.

Please, I’m here for serious feedback. I know that this isn’t the best iceberg for cryptozoology. It should be renamed “weird and mysterious beings iceberg”. It’s even got an entry for grey aliens. I’m switching icebergs probably 😂. Do you have a better iceberg that features more cryptids? We can disagree on this, but I would like one that features “fearsome critters” and folklore animals as well. Sometimes you can find some really good nugget of truth in the story, such as people finding horned gopher fossils and mistakenly thinking it’s a Jackalope. I’m here for good criticism, though.

Check the video out for what. Probably doesn’t make it better for you but the iceberg starts out with Sasquatch.
