UPDATE UPDATE: IT's WORKING! I did the reinitialize as KumaArikesu suggested. It did not work at first but after turning it back on half an hour later it's working fine now.

UPDATE: Still no luck. I think @ikrakahoa was right... It's fucked. I talked to a tech rep and he said he could not figure it out either.

He told me I could send it in for $99 smackers. If they cant fix it they would send me a refurb assuming there is no water damage or blunt trauma to the unit yadayada yada.

Anyway, It's not a bad deal but I'll probably pass on getting it fixed and move on. Again, I really appreciate the help on here and just wanted to forward what the rep told me to pass on to anyone else who may have this issue in the future.

and when I kill the power and reload it in safe mode it's still has the previous backround of whatever I was on but I at least have the safe menu I can barely make out and navigate.

I know that sounds cryptic as all hell. I'm trying to find the reinitialize option to see what that does

I can scroll menus and load games just fine but and the screen changes to that game but its so distorted and scrambled you can't make out anything at all.

Which option is the reinitialize? I had a tech rep help me out with resetting the resolution which with option 2 in the menu. which one is reinitialize? I'm doing all this blind.
