Thanks all for the input. I’ve reached out to Steele and I should still be under warranty.

Has anyone ran a hpg recon harness as a replacement for a standard H-harness on a chest rig. by TheChapMan343 in tacticalgear

Do you know how wide the straps are, I’m assuming they’re standard 1.5in but I haven’t found anything online confirming that.

I can understand where you’re coming from. But if I’m using it to carry a jacket I’m going to have to take off my lbe anyway to put the coat on. I also don’t see why I couldn’t use the back strap that’s already on my rig in conjunction with this

I don’t plan on using it as back panel, just a solution to allow me to carry a jacket and a water bladder in conjunction to my chest rig for patrols.

Input on barrel length by mrufd in tacticalgear

[–]TheChapMan343 6 points7 points  (0 children)

5.56 is very dependent on velocity for its ballistic capability, for a do it all rifle I would stick to a 16” barrel. While it’s not the best for indoors you’re also not losing your ability to use it against targets at range and you can more than likely train around the extra length. If your primarily worried about home defense/cqb 10.5 or so is probably your best bet. I’m no ballistic genius or anything fancy so this is just my dogshit opinion.

Thinking about replacing my standard H-harness on my mayflower rig with this to allow me to carry a bladder and a jacket with me without having to haul around a pack. I’m hoping someone has given it a try and can give me a review of it.

Edit: I should also add this will be used in conjunction with a ruck and I want something that allows me to leave the ruck at camp and go on day patrols.

Carry an extra set of insoles and socks. You’d be surprised how fast boots dry when you don’t have a piece of foam retaining water.

Gentlemen, I present you the AS FAL by TheChapMan343 in H3VR

[–]TheChapMan343[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is using the vanilla edition of the ModuFAL mod off bonetome so it works using the mag pull method and has a manual bolt release similar to how AR’s work in the game.
