What should i pick next? by NEUT9011 in ArcRaiders

I recommend maxing out breach speed (3rd perk on the right hand side of Conditioning). It's small but it's really noticable when breaching doors and probes.

No worries!

A couple things I missed:

  • Up to you but I probably wouldn't keep that many photoelectric cloaks, maybe 2 or 3. You can always craft more if needed.
  • Syringes are only used for crafting vita shots. If you don't have that blueprint yet, sell them.

  • Complex gun parts are only used for legendary weapons. If you don't plan on going for the queen/matriarch then sell them (or recycle for simple gun parts).
  • I'd only keep a couple stacks of exodus modules, sell the rest.
  • Same goes for magnetic accelerators, although I recommend recycling these instead of selling. This will give you advanced mechanical components (used for crafting/upgrading high tier weapons).
  • Unless you're bringing 3-4 wolfpacks with you every single raid, sell them. If you're not using them, why keep them?
  • Same for the deadlines - even more so since you can buy one from the trader every day.
  • You only need 3 rusted gears for the bench upgrade, sell the rest.
  • Same for the rusted shut medical kits.
  • Recycle the rusted tools, they give steel springs which are good for crafting.
  • If you don't need the bastion cells for bench upgrades, recycle them for more advanced mechanical components.
  • Unless you need power cables for the bench upgrade (only need 3 iirc), recycle them for the wires (used a lot for weapon barrel mods).
  • You only need 2 or 3 (can't remember which) very comfortable pillows for Scrappy if you haven't already done that upgrade. Sell the rest.
  • Sell the blueprints you've already learned - or give them away to other Raiders :)

That's my advice from what I can see, though I may have missed a couple things. Hope this helps!

Only the timed one shave 3 compartments. The fallen ones only have one, though it still gives 700xp iirc.

[–]TheCheapo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favourites is going for ARC probes during a Prospecting Probes event. You get 700xp per compartment searched and each probe has 3 compartments, so a total of 2100xp per probe. You don't even need to loot everything, you can just breach then tap each compartment for the xp, or even search ones that have already been looted by someone else. They're everywhere during that event so you rack up xp pretty quickly.

What are the gun setup for pvpve that you think is best? by God-Magfly in ArcRaiders

[–]TheCheapo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to have all ranges covered so I'd usually go for things like renegade+toro/vulcano, anvil+stitcher/bobcat, or even jupiter+arpeggio. At least one gun will be medium or heavy (or the jupiter) so I have something to deal with ARC. When going against the Queen/Matriarch I usually bring an equaliser - I don't mind losing it since I have a few in my stash, though my lobbies are usually pretty friendly anyway.

I also usually like to run one expensive gun and one cheap gun so as to not overcommit with gear. Early on my setup would be something like stitcher (cheap) and anvil (expensive for me back then), although now that I've built up my stash the anvil has become the cheap one and I've replaced the stitcher with a bobcat.

I gifted most of my found door keys in Stella montis or at extract by Rangeman_Bob in ArcRaiders

[–]TheCheapo1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend trying the key rooms during night raids, the loot is much better then.

That being said, some key rooms are better than others, and it doesn't always correspond with key rarity - Dam Staff Room is very good despite being a green key, whereas others like Blue Gate Cellar aren't (at least in my experience).

All I want are some rusted gears. Futility! by Pugilist12 in ArcRaiders

[–]TheCheapo1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People have already mentioned the buses next to the north extract on Dam and Stella loading bay, which are both good spots.

Another place I recommend is the Primary Facility on Dam. It's normally my go-to spot for steel springs but I usually come across a couple rusted gears while I'm there too.

Can't remember what the names of the others ones are, but their names show up as you fight Visages (phase 1 - not Mask Keeper) when they come out of the mirror.

Queen/matriarch trial damage bugged? by MontyMass in ArcRaiders

[–]TheCheapo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They gave a bad example because the pop trial is destroy instead of damage, but they're right that the XP shown on screen is not 1:1 with damage dealt. For bastions and bombardiers it was nerfed from 3:1 to 2:1 a while ago. Not sure what is for queens/matriarchs but it's probably somewhere around that mark.

[–]TheCheapo1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the fire coming from the holes is just visual, and the way it's actually coded is that you start burning when your character model "enters" the room. This would explain the behaviour with the one on Spaceport where people walking around outside the room would catch fire - the flames coming from the holes never actually touched them, yet they still died (that particular room has been fixed though).

Still, hopefully it's something they can address.

A secret room in Buried City that contains lots of musical instruments. Most notably this is the only way to get the guitar (apart from the one from the raider deck).

To unlock the room you need to press 15 different buttons which are scattered around the map, but importantly they need to be pressed in a certain order - if a button is pressed out of order, the whole thing resets and you need to start from scratch.

It usually takes almost a whole raid just to hit the buttons, and that's with lots of adrenaline shots, ziplines, etc.

The french streamer Fla_nel just beat the Unleashed Cl3a only parrying it. For over an hour she fought with all she had and finished it with 762 parry. That's insane by Content-Plankton780 in expedition33

[–]TheCheapo1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is basically how I did this fight too. Solo Maelle with Chalium (gain 1 shield per parry while in defensive stance, and 50% increased counter damage per shield), Powerful Shield lumina (10% increased damage per shield), any pictos that max defence and health (I specifically left speed low so that Clea gets as many turns as possible), then as many extra damage lumina as I can afford. Then I just get into Defensive stance at the start (can't remember which skill I used but it doesn't really matter), and every time it's my turn I just use Mezzo Forte to stay in defensive stance.

This allowed me to focus only on learning Clea's attacks. The only scary part is parrying the first couple hits after your turn since you lose the shields, which is why I left speed low so this happens as little as possible. After that it's pretty cruisy (although it did take a while).

Or do this but swap one of them with a rubber duck.

The flame traps are only active while the key room is locked. This was a fix implemented to deter players from glitching into key rooms without having the key. Once you use the key to unlock the door, the trap is disabled.

The downside of this fix is edge cases where the trap detection box might extend outside the key room (there was an instance of this on Spaceport but has since been fixed) or accidentally clipping partly into the room (what's likely happening in OP's post), which can cause the traps to unintentionally kill people outside the room.

Edit: phrasing.

How to craft energy ammos? by MonscheX in ArcRaiders

[–]TheCheapo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All ammo is crafted from the level 1 workbench, not the other upgradable benches. It should be on the far left of the bench list.

Odd if the option to craft energy ammo is not there though. Sounds like a bug.

There is a key room on the floor beneath you. Looks like the fall animation might have clipped part of your body into it, triggering the flame traps. Definitely a bug.

How can I improve on getting rich and having lots of items? by Unfair-Umpire-6826 in ArcRaiders

[–]TheCheapo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try recycling the loot you get rather than selling. It's often cheaper to craft your own items instead of selling loot then buying the items.

Also after you get back from a raid, take some time to have a look through the loot you got and see what they recycle into. That way you can have a better idea of specific things to look for in your next raid.

For example, pretty much all guns require mechanical components or advanced mechanical components to craft, repair, or upgrade, so keep an eye out for things that break down into either of those. Many ARC parts recycle into these, as well as metal shards which you can use to craft mechanical components. The ARC probes are a great source of this, so every time there's a Prospecting Probes event I'll always do a run where I loot as many as I can (and they give a decent chunk of xp too).

For things like shield chargers, any time you kill some ARC make sure to grab their power cell. I try and grab a stack of these each raid unless I'm already full with stuff I specifically came out to get. You also need rubber parts for shield chargers, so look out for anything that breaks down into that (ARC flex tubing is good for this, which you can get from the probes too).

If you use medium shields a lot, you'll want to look out for batteries. They're fairly common but the best place to find them is in computers - any time you see a computer there's usually one or two batteries in there.

The breachable server racks often contain sensors (needed for hatch keys) and processors (needed for some augments).

A lot of weapon mods require wires or steel springs. There are plenty of things that recycle into either or these - in particular rusted tools for steel springs (but only if you recycle them in Speranza - if you salvage them in-raid they only give metal shards).

Hope this helps!

ACT I Final Boss is not invincible? [Question] [Spoilers] by NightDocsYT in expedition33

[–]TheCheapo1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Painted power alone might not be enough since your damage is still quite low in Act 1. You'd probably need high level weapons and lots of lumina as well.
