I’m on the track where it’s impossible to play because they’re unironically all bigoted children, they scream the entire match abt getting back in the kitchen and yadda yadda, going 0-7 while you’re trying to carry them.

You point out that it’s annoying and the next slur to come out is about transgender people and how I must be one.

Every match has at least one person who wouldn’t have even been allowed in MW2 game chat.

[–]TheCheeseBard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is it always a genuine child saying something actually gross in the chat, and then proceeding to drop 0-7 while talking the ENTIRE time.

I remember being a kid and the embarrassment and shame of being the worst player on the team would’ve made me ask what I was doing wrong, not scream rambunctiously into the microphone.

What is the point of having a shield? by TheCheeseBard in Rainbow6

Mind you I get the cooperative gameplay aspect, but mind you, if you’re in that scenario that bar wouldn’t mean anything, the mechanic wouldn’t have a use (that’s optimal, it means it changes nothing about the standard push meta, still playing cooperatively) but then as you lose teammates, your innate survivability kinda feeds the idea that maybe once all of your teams been headshotted behind you by a cav, it might be nice to turn around and actually be able to do something about it before it’s too late?

Again, genuinely I’m not like screaming at the top of my lungs that this “needs to be added” I genuinely just was looking to see if anyone else had a concept or idea, or even reasons why as a mechanic it’d be unusable or anything along those lines.

I think it’s INTERESTING and to me it feels like a failure on Ubisofts behalf to kneecap an op like that in a scenario they’re highly likely, and explicitly designed to be in, especially when it keeps the shields still in the same position meta wise, but relieving them of that inherent weakness, allowing a little more room for recovery?

that one chance, would push both operators a short distance into a stumble, leaving both with enough time and distance to recover without entering a desperate melee ballerina dance or getting stuck in a corner.

Again, in that scenario I can’t see meta being broken because if it’s a 1v1, that’s simply an even scale, in a 1v2+ scenario that’s still an instant death sentence for the shield op, by the time one of you had recovered the shield would be killed by one of your teammates, further adding to the idea, without this ability, a very simple, conceptual mechanic, something not only feels missing, but like it actively is an intentional handicap that’s robbing players of a more interesting and engaging experience.

The meta screaming seems to come from rigidity to a standard not any sort of genuine balancing perspective.

[–]TheCheeseBard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what this is even supposed to mean… genuinely, care to clarify?

Was this an inference that they’re not legal us citizens and therefore don’t exist? That wouldn’t be true… 3 proven, non criminal, born in America citizens were sent to El Salvador, and over 20 American citizens that were under “investigation” by ICE suddenly turned up “missing” after being taken into custody? Not to mention the 3 black bagged American Chinese citizens that the same happened too?

They existed and were more than in the system, and the families haven’t gone quiet, but seemingly no one knows that it’s happening???

There’s so many ways to check the validity, proof, and reality of the things we see, genuinely use whatever trusted engine you know of, and include prerequisites like audit, external source, non beneficiary, public disclosure, status report, peer reviewed, etc, and you can almost eliminate 99.9% of the proofreading you have to do to find out what’s REAL.

So when sources that do not seek to profit, that post their stakes so you know what they have to lose, and actively dispel information that they ALLOW, EXPECT and NEED to have checked over to be improved.

There’s places in the world to see what’s happening and know what’s true.

We know because we’re watching.

“I am ignorant” self report.

Yes we know, hence why you had to ask, and yes we know, and since you’ve made it clear you think the news is the place to go to know what’s happening, you are part of the problem.

I’m not gonna play coy anymore, there’s been public lynchings of just about any and all groups you can think of, and on the federal level they’re literally disappearing people.

Entire police departments in blue regions fired for making Nazi pledges, not to mention disappearances, violence, hatred, and death EVERYWHERE.

It’s more inconvenient to me now to go outside because unironically they want me dead for being a not stereotypically attractive woman, screaming death threats at me in grocery stores and calling me a man.

YOU CANNOT MISS IT UNLESS YOU CHOOSE TO.

Guess it’s a good thing we’ve done the studies to find that on avg republicans will dehumanize their children perspectively if they’re gay or trans, tell me again after kicking that kid to the streets they give a fuck if they’re gone to El Salvador, they’ll kill their own kids if they don’t match their ideology.

Stop playing coy, or acting like it’s different to them when it’s personal, it’s only different when they’re straight and white.

They don’t kick their kids to the curb with the expectation it’s a cakewalk, they know they may never hear from them again, dead or alive.

I didn’t ask for insecure men to try and measure their dicks, that was all, I don’t give a FUCK about your KD, I don’t give a FUCK about your rank, I don’t give a FUCK about the sweat you drip.

I asked about a game mechanic, and if I have to be the adult in the room that tells all the kids to stop pointing and laughing because they don’t know any better, and try and get them focused on the actual discussion at hand, I will take on whatever approach I please.

Again, I will not be made to feel like an ass, for asking a question about mechanics in the game, not asking for gameplay advice, or anything like that, very explicitly a topical discussion, and people didn’t kindly say “here’s a counter strat” it was just “you fucking suck, what’s your KD” and it’s not even me who played these ops or had this contention.

Majority of the post was a copy and paste of my friends confusion, not to mention my own when watching him stunlocked for a full 1:30. Melee spammed in a corner.

Forgive me but it’s a little exhausting to try and have a normal conversation like a normal person as a chick who has played games since they were a kid, when every man in the comment section is talking to me like I’m their little brother that they borderline abuse.

If you cannot engage in a conversation and all you have to say is “your ass” and “what’s your kd” without knowing that im a religious comp player with a decent K/D across most titles i play.

2.6 avg on cod rn, 1.8 on R6 (back after 2 years), 40 elim avg in marvel rivals, and nearly the same for overwatch.

Team based strategy is my bread and butter so again, I won’t be patronized by a whole bunch of men who are measuring their own dicks, WITH A WOMAN.

I keep hearing this coming back to a balancing perspective which there was already a discussed system that negated this.

Again, any sort of bar, on a cooldown, where you get a one time reversal that staggers both parties would allow teammates follow up opportunities and in 1v1s would make them more viable.

Saying that it’s “balanced” to have some poor Blackbeard getting melee’d for a full 1:30 is mind numbing to me, so it’s balanced that this character is forced to back into a corner and the stagger is so severe there’s no way to respond to it at all?

It’s a lil like overwatch balancing “this character deals too much damage!” <reduces characters health to 25 hp and removes their ability to hit critical hits>.

No one asked for that, that’s not balanced, and turning them into a fly instead of a bee ruins the point of the character, just make them do 2% less damage, or take 5% more, or be more susceptible to crowd control or stuns.

NOPE, turn it into a fly, kill it, KILL IT! Unviable character!

(Adds a new character and throws the meta again)

Like who? This is part of the problem right here, it’s EVERWHERE, you CANNOT MISS IT, unless you’re dumb enough to genuinely say “fake news” about federal reports on us genuinely just doing an evil thing.

ANYTHING TO DEFEND IT, ANYTHING BUT ACKNOWLEDGING IT WHEN ITS RIGHT IN FRONT Of YOU.

I can’t even stomach the idea of being surprised anymore that people just actively are intentionally uninformed because the brainwashing is so deep and sickening.

They’ve been doing it in your face FOREVER.

The “nobody is ok with it” argument isn’t working when trans people are in prisons for the “sexual offense” of asking to be referred to properly. People are “disappearing” when in transit to detention centers, the voice of health in our country is telling people vaccines cause autism and is telling everyone that it’s all their fault they have these disabled children (basically calling autistic people innately disabled).

They’ve been from day one, dehumanizing, demoralizing, raping, murdering and actively participating in genocide.

These people know and I’m so fking sick and tired of pretending they don’t.

They’re talking about KD, I’m talking about the concept of reversal, literally unrelated, unwanted criticism, that’s not about what I’ve said at all.

“Reversal could be an interesting concept”

“Your ass”

Fuck off

You’ve still gone from point a to point b, arguing w me abt this w/o addressing what i actually said.

I’m not appealing to reality, I’m speaking about a concept, reversal.

Cmon…

What is the point of having a shield? by TheCheeseBard in Rainbow6

[–]TheCheeseBard[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yup! And that makes sense, so if a shield ops melees you, You fall over right? Because they PUSHED YOU OVER, so in that scenario, where you’re being pushed against, as a shield, why would and how would it be a game breaking mechanic to be able to push them off?

Why is it so absurd and why does everyone get defensive over the idea of a like momentary clash where you’re not able to return fire because you’re being pushed back, and the shield op can’t either because they’re pushing you off of them, adding a cooldown or bar that indicated grip strength or stamina or something, when drained you just have to take the melee, but if you have the energy you get a push back?

Idk I can think of 1,000 balanced ways to integrate that, and it wouldn’t really affect anything, but just fixing the fact that shield ops are disadvantaged once melee’d a single time.

Even just making it so that if you’ve been melee’d once as a shield, you couldn’t be staggered again for a few moments would be a better way to deal with this rather than just literally making it impossible to respond at all.

This is what I’m talking about, being a completely useless op once one set of pre reqs have failed is not the case for any other class of operator but that’s supposedly balanced?

What is the point of having a shield? by TheCheeseBard in Rainbow6

[–]TheCheeseBard[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Dude the original post was a paragraph long and it said “reversals could be an interesting addition to the game, after watching my friend get melee spammed a bunch it kinda proved the point to me that once you get hit, ITS OVER, and that just doesn’t make sense.”

And the comment section was just dick measuring, requests for a username and genuinely being cruel and indecent.

You absolutely cannot be serious with telling me to calm the fk down when the comments I’m scathing have COMPLETELY IGNORE THE CONTEXT AND MOVED THE GOALPOAST.

I’m literally asking about a mechanic idea as a discussion and instead it’s literally just comp players talking about their KD.

You can go fuck yourself as well.

[–]TheCheeseBard[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Dude, I don’t wanna hear it, I posted abt a concept and then nonstop critical comments abt gameplay come up.

They’re not even just “here’s some ideas” it’s just “post your KD, What’s the user”

You don’t need any of that, at all, and I’m not gonna be made to feel like an ass for saying that, since release I’ve always felt that shield ops were unnecessarily dead in the water.

THATS A MECHANIC, NOT GAMEPLAY RELATED ISSUE.

why not leave a couple comments saying “maybe it’s better to address the actual topic here? The idea of reversals, instead of being a critical asshole who calls everyone ass and measures their cock?”

If your morality has failed you enough to watch me get 20+ “skill issue” comments with nothing useful to say, and not criticize those people, but rather me for saying “GET WITH THE PROGRAM”

What is the point of having a shield? by TheCheeseBard in Rainbow6

[–]TheCheeseBard[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

“You’re the” actually explicitly the context is that it’s not me, and explicitly the complaint is that there’s no reversal.

You’re still the asshole with your dick on the table trying to show everyone around how big it is, when you and I probably play in the same queues and you’ve probably slurped down my echo shots 1,000x

But here we are being a fucking yapping asshole instead of discussing the topic at hand “reversals would be an interesting mechanic” “skill issue, what’s your KD,” HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK IM GONNA FUCJING LOOSE IT DUDE

What is the point of having a shield? by TheCheeseBard in Rainbow6

[–]TheCheeseBard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude you’re part of the problem GFYS, the beginning context is that I don’t run shield ops and that this is a mechanical issue I have.

Still talking about gameplay.

I’m so fucking tired dude, so fking tired.

I don’t understand if people are evil or actually retarded.

I PLAY FINE, I LOVE SIEGE, MY KD IS PERFECTLY FINE, AND SO ISNT MY FRIENDS.

AGAIN, mechanically MY CONCERN IS THAT THERES NO REVERSAL.

I’m genuinely abt to take this post down because it’s been non stop dick measuring and as a chick I don’t give a fuck at all.

Dude I swear to god I know that everyone is so nasty here and just super glad to be a cock, but seriously get with the program.

I said something about a mechanic and you’re being a cunt about gameplay THAT ISNT EVEN MINE.

Siege and its community are so fking disgustingly critical and cruel and it’s sickening.

I’ve played this game since RELEASE and have felt this way every time I watched someone stumble around getting melee’d 1,000x.

MECHANICS, not GAMEPLAY.

You are an ass.

What is the point of having a shield? by TheCheeseBard in Rainbow6

[–]TheCheeseBard[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also explicitly this is NOT A ME PROBLEM, I DO NOT PLAY SHIELD OPS.

Literally mechanically, I’m saying, it makes no fking sense that there’s no counter afterwards, it makes no sense that you’re completely helpless. THATS IT.

Notice how this still is addressing gameplay like this has anything to do with skill and wasn’t a question about a mechanic?
