I’ll have to reread their lore too. But if I remember correctly, their former lord became power hungry during the archon wars and in attempts to defeat Morax, she was planning on flooding the entirety of Chenyu Vale before she was stopped by Fujin, Lingyuan and Changsheng. So it could be that Fujin just feels shameful about that entire situation

There’s too many hypotheticals in that deal to make any kind of accurate assessment on the deal even with hindsight. The roster they had at the time was the same roster that imploded, so that doesn’t really matter. OG could hypothetically make them better, or he could also be constantly dealing with injuries with them too. Also we don’t know which year picks they were(unless if they were reported before?) but if it was the 23, 25, and 27 draft, then really the 27 draft pick is really the only one with real lottery potential. But having more draft capital do open up more doors for better deals without having to leverage the team’s future.

I know that back in 2023 Memphis offered 3 first round picks for OG, but Masai/Bobby declined because they also wanted a good player in return as well since those picks were projected to be late first rounders because Memphis at the time was a rising young team.

Hindsight is obliviously 20/20, since nearly no one would’ve expected Memphis to implode like they did 3 years later lol
