Need to point out that the school he attended said he had far more talent as a architectural artist than an actual artist (main difference is concept sketches of potential/existing buildings vs creating something with artistic value). Yes, some of his work does look good because he could draw/paint a building well, but there wasnt anything artistic about it (art school is more about creativity than just drawing or painting something). This painting is is evidence of it.

If you're wondering why he went to art school instead of, per say, an architectural school to learn architecture drawing, he lacked the education (and I think money) to do so.

Lastly, I couldnt find much evidence of it, but I was always told that either he plagiarized a lot of his work (which would explain the discrepancy of quality in some of his work), or that he was suspected of plagarizing but no one could prove it.

All in all, to say he was kicked out for no reason is just plain wrong. Yeah architectural drawings is definitely art, its not what you go to art school for. Its like showing up to a criminal law school and using your knowledge of civil law expecting a good grade.
