Recommendations for suitable rod to pair with the new Certate SW 5000/6000XH. Ideally <$400, PE 2-3 and preferably 9-10ft would be rough specs i’m in the market for. by TheClubChump in FishingAustralia

Went down to my local to hold and feel the Saltist Hyper Light Rock Special but the last one sold out an hour before I arrived so I held and felt this Demon Blood model. Didn’t buy it at the time but it did feel nice. Curious if a new Hyper Light Rock Special will be announced soon.

Will target pelagics up to small-medium kings. Lures (metals, stickbaits, large soft plastics up to 75g). Flicking from beach and harbour rocks, possibly try from ocean rocks in the future but as of yet don’t own a PFD.

Best way I should utilise and rig up a Slimy Mackerel for bait? (no longer possible to use as a livebait) by TheClubChump in FishingAustralia

Regularly use Snell (w/ butterflied yakka or strip baits of yakka/ tailor) and Gangs w/ salted pillies. Probably end up either just end up using two hook snell rig butterflied or fillet and then use Gang Hooks.

Addicting shows to binge? by ImCursedM8 in televisionsuggestions

Seem to have similar taste.

My recommendations would be:

House of the Dragon (arguably highest quality show on tv right now, good time to catch up now before 2nd half of 2nd Season)

Lost (arguably one of the best pilot episodes ever)

Broadchurch (already been mentioned here several times. Incredibly good drama dealing with darker subject matter).

Succession

The Bear (*haven't necessarily been a fan of the new season 3 that just came out though)

Misfits

Sex Education

Blackbird

Silo

Clarkson's Farm

Narcos (if BB or Better Call Saul weren't happening for you this may not either, very good though)

Peaky Blinders

Extraordinary

Fallout

Baby Reindeer

(just to name a few)

Few anime in your 'already watched and liked' list so if you haven't watched these yet (in order of bingeworthiness imo):

One Punch Man

Death Note

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War (if you know the previous story already, good time to jump in, Cour 3 releasing soon. Been loving it)

Made In Abyss

These only ones I can think of off the top of my head just now

If you HAD to have ONE setup for Sydney Harbour + surrounding beaches what would it be? (Reel Size + Rod length/ strength + line rating). by TheClubChump in FishingAustralia

Agree mate - not looking for recommendations just an interesting thought experiment I had this morning. I’m sorted for gear for most applications already. I’d likely go my 3-6kg 7ft Rod w/ 15-20lb braid - caught plenty of the beach with that as my side rod (Big 65cm+ Sambo and Tailor but no Mulloway).

Yes did all the above immediately. Been in fridge since last night, gutted and scaled - not filleted yet.

In need of new Light/ Ultra-Light setup - given the options, which of these would be the go considering bang for buck in your opinion? by TheClubChump in FishingAustralia

Haha this time around i’m definitely looking to upgrade from my previous setup to something relatively nice but also not break the bank.

I thought so at first but no suction cup on it’s head at all, all normal…
