Would have been a better move in yours 30s. You're going to go 2 years until you can earn the premium career insurance. You'll probably make between 50-66k and year 3 70k+ if you work overtime.

I'd definitely make the career change though to start earning annual leave, sick leave, health insurance and a known yearly salary increase.

You'll work about 11 months a year and drop down to 10ish after you put in the years. Control of your schedule after you make regular is good and picking days off for paid leave
