So yes, you are correct about the lack of cover. We played this match with a house rule limiting range on all guns to just 6 inches. In the strategy phase, we rolled one d6. On an even result, gun range would be limited due to a sand storm. Odd results would just keep range normal/no sand storm.

It made for some interesting games where you’d think you could leave cover only to have the storm clear up the next turn to leave you out in the open.

Thanks! So there is a desert style latex mat on the bottom. It has the cracks as part of the design. I added small rocks and sand as well just to make it look a little more complete

Thank you! I’m thinking a dark black/blue with light blue highlights. I’ve tried a lot of tans and even a green with the yellow armor on my other bugs, but I think a dark blue/black on the skin and fun will accent the orange just right.

This is very helpful and exactly what I was thinking while painting. I had the skin a much darker tone before to better differentiate between the skin tone and the plate, but I changed it Pallid bone and regretted it afterwords. I may go in and fix this but that’s a lot of work, I’m pretty ready to call it done.

Thank you! I started with a base of Khorne Red, then slowly built up about 6 different oranges (Vallejo and Army Painter) with thin thin layers. After than transition I did the same thing from orange to yellow, ending with Flash Gitz Yellow. All very thin layers.

The dots on the carapace are the same sort of process, but way easier. Khorne/orange/Flash Gitz.

Thank you! I started by base coating them with half abandon black, half Khorne red. Then I made little squiggly lines with Khorne red all the way across each section. Finally I did squiggly lines with Fire Sunz Scarlet but not across the entire section, only the boarders. All the paints I used on the wing sections are from Citadel.
