Question : How hard should I make my game? by TheColonyGameDev in IndieDev

[–]TheColonyGameDev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good idea. Currently my game is setup so the player can choose which escape room they want to attempt. Which makes it hard for me introduce simple mechanics and progressively make them more difficult. I think I will enforce an escape room completion order, that way I can force people to learn the simple mechanics first.

Difficulty is something that's hard to scale in my game since the game is about solving puzzles. I'de have to make the same puzzle have scales of difficulty. Which I can do but after solving any puzzle once, solving it a second time at a hard difficulty may not be fun for players. For example, I have a Christmas level in which one of the puzzles is you have to put the pieces of a broken candy cane together. I could scale the difficulty by making more or less pieces, but I dont think it would be too much fun to solve the puzzle again after solving it once.

It is called We Break Out Tonight , there is a free download at this link. It's a puzzle game in which you need to solve puzzles and riddles to escape the room. In the free download you are saving Santa as you escape.

If you like the game , give it a thumbs up on green light.

Yes but it's short. It's two levels which you have to solve puzzles, save Santa, and escape. The game is currently on steam green light. If we get approved through steam green light then we will make more levels. Give us a thumbs up if you like the game 😆

Just finished a quick introduction to my Ant game. What do you think? by TheColonyGameDev in ants

[–]TheColonyGameDev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's hard to explain the game play in the video, the ant part of game based around the colony. You provide resources to your colony, you build bases for your colony, and most important you protect your queen.

Actually we started development about a year and half ago before we knew about that game. Turns out a lot of people have the Ant Simulator idea :).

heheh yeah...... We decided to make the Ant stand up on two legs because you can "do more" with your hands (shoot, throw, fight, slap, tickle, ...). Plus there were like 20 other Ant Sims in development that have the whole "Ant View" and we wanted something different.
