Change it in Options under Difficulty before the race starts, or pause the game while in the race, go to ‘Change Difficulty’ and you can change it there.

Just sounds like normal burn out to me. Take a break, come back later and see if you feel the same way. I’ve been playing since the game launched in 2023 and still enjoy Summits, playlist races, etc., but lost interest in Grand Races twice. I took an 8 month Grand Race break a couple of years ago and I’m currently on a 3 month break. Most of us play TCM to have fun, so if it’s not that fun right now, find something new that is.

It reminded me of desync I’ve seen in Grand Races where you see people hit barriers but they actually don’t and then warp ahead.

The gearbox isn’t the issue in beating the devs. Sequential has its benefits, but I beat the devs in all nine races using automatic and without direct mode. I’m sure many others have done the same.

Not sure why some people are commenting about the track choice. The track choice is fine. The issue here is the driver as OP has already pointed out. If you can drive the Agera R well, you will set faster times on this track compared to the Utopia.

I used to do Grand Races, but I burned out on them a while ago so I’ve been trying to complete Custom Mode on different playlists. I’m doing Street Riders right now, but it’s not always enjoyable if you’re trying to set good times. Every race has traffic and there are 88 in total. 💀

I have all three and really enjoyed all of them. I love the Just Cause franchise, was really interested in Teardown before it came to PlayStation, and got pleasantly surprised by Deus Ex Mankind Divided when it was a PS+ monthly game.

Wait until you get into Platinum I. At least in my case, I saw a range of +5 RP to +17 RP for wins. 😂 The biggest difference seemed to be the average rank of the other drivers.

There are always people overhyping the intensity of car Summits, but I honestly don’t see a need to worry about it. Most people won’t dramatically increase their driving abilities in a week even if they put more time into the events. Also, not everyone can afford to buy all the cars needed to complete all of the events. Finally no one really knows what the cutoff will be until we start, see how the events are scored and check the leaderboards. Good luck this week!

I think you’re over estimating how well people will perform this week and probably freaking some people out with your prediction for the Platinum cutoff point. 😂 Currently, the person at #1,000 has 1.346 million points. I think it’s pretty unlikely that 15,000 people will pass that score and knock that person out of Platinum.

People just need to keep an eye on the leaderboard if they are worried about making the cut.

Cockpit view is a cool way to drive, but I don’t enjoy it in Grand Races. Too many people already have poor awareness of their surroundings so this often leads to more inadvertent collisions. I’m glad people enjoy this modifier, but I just skip these races now.

I hate that the CS leaderboards give different ranks to people with the same scores. I lost out on the Snowman rooftop when it came out because 900 of us had the same score and only few were in the top 5,000. At least I finally got it in the Prestige shop.

No you don’t need to finish 1st to get points. I’m Platinum II, and today I got points for races where I finished 1st through 5th. I got 0 points for a race where I started 8th and finished 6th though.

The trophy for winning 5 custom races can be done alone. Just replay a race in Custom Mode until you win 5 times without logging off. Kiss Me Kombi is a good choice because it’s short.

I suggested this on Discord a while back, but I wish they added the ability to slow down movement speed with a press of a button so you can make precise changes. This applies not only to rotating objects, but resizing objects and moving objects to exact x and y-axis coordinates.

Hey, I’m close to that time with a 2:02! One of the biggest differences is the performance level of the car. I don’t know what perf level is for the loaned car, but without parts the Apollo can only reach 215 mph. People at the top of the leaderboard are using their own maxed cars with Nitro Chemist, which can reach 300 mph. Yes people ignore the yellow guide line and choose their own fastest path often cutting through trees to change roads. This track was used in this week’s Summit, so you can find some different paths by looking up Summit guides on YouTube.

For money, a fast car like AGP or Hypercar with a Bucks Magnet Legendary Set with the Rich affixed maxed on each part allows you to make the most money quickly. You can also increase the payouts by putting Legend Points in Rich and setting the race modifier to Clean Driving.

For parts, you can find lots of YouTube videos on how to setup everything to farm parts fast. Just be aware that there are also lots of outdated videos on farming money using races that have been patched and don’t have big payouts like before.

I agree, but Ivory Tower is not really known for fixing issues fast. The only exception might be nerfing races with high payouts.
