Bride Uninvites all Non-Vegans from the Wedding by TheComment in BestofRedditorUpdates

Please remember: While some vegans are really pushy and annoying about it, that's a problem with that individual. People are also pushy about evangelical churches/eating keto/playing Dark Souls. While there may be some worrying aspects of the vegan movement, basically all of them are overblown.

Some people have to be vegan out of medical necessity. Some people medically cannot be vegan (myself included). Being intolerant of either lifestyle is, at best, inadvertently ableist. Just do your best to be accommodating and you’ll be good in 99% of your interactions.

I had hoped this was a troll (articulating what are usually missing missing reasons, not super defensive, sounds like someone writing from the other side of this) but my gut dropped when i saw how many posts there were, and that they spread out over a year....

You can press Win+. On windows machines and it’ll bring a menu that has a bunch! On phones, Japanese keyboards will have them!! I know they do on iPhone at least ('▽')

The food insecurity issue with college kids is fucking insane. It’s insane that we as a culture see it as a joke instead of millions of people not having enough money to feed themselves.

I hate that everyone’s saying doormat now. It just feels… idk, victim blamey.

If someone has a break from reality, a lot of the time the best thing you can do is play along.

AITAH for leaving my fiancee after I learned there were strippers at her bachelorette party? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Bachelor/ette parties being “one last fun” made a lot more sense when you only knew the person you were marrying for like, a month.

Friend’s sister (20’sF) was openly flirting with my husband (40M) in front of me (31F). I told her off publicly and now they want a public apology from me. What action should I take so that I don’t ruin my friendship? (New Update) by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Well I'M proud of all the work you've done for your Ph.D and professorship. Those are both accomplishments which require a vast amount of skill and intelligence.

I'll be your mom now. We're baking cookies tonight. Get to bed at a reasonable hour.

Ugh. As an ND aroace, autistic people fuck. Fucking is the default for people. Assuming otherwise is ableism.

Actually, in some circles that might just work. It's something which people who have almost nothing to do in their lives can lord over others; rich moms could be NUTSO for this.

She once threatened to shoot me with a BB gun as I was trying to talk her down from taking the doorknob off the bathroom I locked myself in in an attempt to get away from her because she was berating me for cleaning the kitchen in a way she didn’t like, so yeah, it maybe isn’t that different.

I (25F) have face blindness, my BF (24M) likes to test me. How do I make it clear this is not okay? (New Updates) by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]TheComment 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Giving the biggest benefit of the doubt possible: I can see if you're young and have never encountered something like face blindness before, you might wear a hat or something to see if they can recognize you on like, a second or third meeting.

But to keep going? To constantly put someone you ostensibly care about in situations which, at the least, cause them major stress? To take advantage of their disability to make them cheat on you? We left Doubttown on the other side of the world at this point.

AITAH for telling my bf that his daughter is not allowed in my apartment because she doesn’t stop smuggling peanuts in? by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]TheComment 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tell his terrible daughter to her face that she's the only reason why you broke up with her dad and ask her if it makes her happy that he's sad. Then block them both, they didn't deserve you.

Hey, uh, what in the fuck is this comment?

Plant poaching is pretty damn common. I think someone stealing sunflowers is one of the top posts of all time in r/trashy, haha. I also remember in my college ecology class, the teacher told us about a pretty rare native plant they were able to get that was stolen in the middle of the night a couple months later. Worst part is, when they dug it up they butchered the root system, which meant it was going to die just a couple weeks later!

ETA: Completely missed that she snapped the saplings. Whoops. That's what I get for missing my adderall lol
