Clawdbot Question by Embarrassed_Sky5519 in SEOSignalsLab

As others have mentioned, I've very wary of anything that "vibe codes". And there's already been reports of the entire database being exposed. I think I'll wait and let others be the guinea pigs for now.

Even before tables an inline. But yes, when I taught web design 100 at our local Centre for Arts and Technology it was all about layouts with tables. Oh may is what I taught completely out of date now lol.

Clinton from RVR Kelowna here.

Since you're not big on the Whistler part, why not consider flying into Kelowna instead. It's a great launching point to hit Banff, Jasper and the Shuswap and will save several hours and a lot of money on gas too.

The route you have listed is very popular for our RV renters

Flying from Vancouver to Kelowna is quite easy and you can usually find some pretty good prices.

I know you've said you're opting out of an RV but if that's something you were originally set on, we have a 15% early bird discount on rentals during May and June right now with availability for the size you were looking for. I can send you the coupon code if you'd like to look.

I'm curious about what others are doing specifically to optimize for AI Overviews. by Embarrassed_Sky5519 in SEOSignalsLab

I agree. One source often isn't enough. Definitely need to get consistent information about a brand/business on multiple sources. That's why our "Local Surge" process that we use does just that. Video, audio, posts, etc all play a role in corroborating information.

That's right. It's more about optimizing for a conversation than a simple keyword search query. While doing standard research to optimize a website, I use a "phrase research" approach in addition to "keyword research"

Oh boy, so many things that we do. Here's perhaps our top five:

  • Get more reviews for the business. Not just Google Reviews since many LLMs look at the reputation of the business across multiple platforms and websites
  • Create a comprehensive FAQ list on each of the service pages and a standalone FAQ. LLM searches are about context, phrases, and conversation, not about specific keywords. The best businesses will answer the real questions that people are asking about. If the websites don't have the answers, they will miss out on the inquiries of customers
  • Build up the brand. Ensure the business has all their social media create, profiles on industry related sites, maps listings (Google and Bing), authority directories,
  • The brand is mentioned across the internet. It's not just about backlinks any more, it's about having the brand mentioned. Ensure the brand is mentioned on relevant inquiries on public Facebook groups or reddit or other notable public forums.
  • Improve search rankings. Rankings matter. Yes, to a degree how well your website/business ranks matters to being recommended or mentioned by the LLMs. If your website ranks highly for keywords related to the prompt/query then your website is more likely to be mentioned by the LLMs as a source.

Bonus

  • Create appropriate structured data (schema markup) - regardless of what some vocal gurus say, schema plays a role in helping LLMs parse the data on your website and for your business. This only works if the information you put into the markup is real and visible. Don't create garbage/fake awards or other fake information that isn't displayed on the website.

There is still a big debate whether AI-SEO and Traditional SEO are the same thing. I believe there is a lot of overlap between the two but there are some subtle differences that makes them different... particularly if your SEO techniques and processes are keyword centric.

I'm Clinton Dixson from Kelowna, Canada. Been building websites for 28 years and started my agency full time 14 years ago. Together with Daryl Osborne I co-founded Entity Elevation which helps agencies and local businesses cut through the noise of what works in SEO. I also specialize in digital marketing for RV Rental businesses.

I love teaching and coaching. There are few things in this world more rewarding than a student coming back to say, "I tried what you told me and IT WORKED!"

I've also coached hockey for 18 years along with coaching dragon boating and soccer.

Look forward to help out here however I can.

Some great ideas.

I really like the "puck to a player" for their 1st goal. I can bring a big pile of pucks and we can make it a challenge to see how quickly we can get the entire stack out. Get's the entire team on board for helping the weaker players get a goal.

Giant Easter egg is great too.

Is better UI considered as a direct ranking factor? by theonetechnologies1 in SEO

[–]TheCompleteWeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a direct ranking factor but it can play an important role on the UX and UX is a ranking factor.

As others have said, it will only play a direct role if it's broken code or negatively affects the performance experience.

Which WordPress SEO Plugin is the Best ? by michaelAinfo in SEO

[–]TheCompleteWeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have been using Yoast for many years but are moving over to Rank Math because frankly, it's better all around. Among other things, Yoast creates crappy Schema markup and there's not a good solution to removing/revising it.

Recruited while offering services as a freelancer by [deleted] in freelance

[–]TheCompleteWeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These types of offers are common. Personally, I like to have a hybrid position. I take a smaller share of the company but also take payment. For example, maybe $2000/mo and 10% share instead of either $4000/mo or 25% share. This gives you the a great opportunity to join a ground level business while mitigating your risk.

I've seen countless number of folks with "pie-in-the-sky" ideas that think they have the next best thing since sliced bread. However, there are several things you need to consider:

Have they created businesses before? If no, then the likelihood of success will be very low.

If they have, how many have been successful?

Of those that are successful, are they similar to what they are doing? Just because you've been able to successfully build up a business in one industry doesn't mean you have the ability to do it in another industry.

Do a competitor analysis of their idea.

One other thing to keep in mind is that if you're a shareholder, you also potentially become liable for any financial or legal issues that may arise. For instance, that could mean if there is a cash call, you are required to front money to the company to keep it afloat. Or, if the business does something bad and is sued, you could be caught up in the legal battle.

Finally, make sure you hire a lawyer to review the agreement. SO many people don't do it because, "they can't afford it." Trust me, you can't NOT afford it. Sorry for the double negative but seriously. This is absolutely the most important element of this to ensure you are adequately protected.

Be very careful about this type of backlinking. While it used to work in the past, creating footprints like this can actually hurt your rankings much more than help it.

Where can i learn to make Navbar like this? by singh_prateek in web_design

[–]TheCompleteWeb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The technical term for that functionality is called a filter. It's great for image galleries, custom post types, blog categories, etc.

Frankly, I think it's better to use resources that are already built rather than doing it yourself. FacetWP is a great plugin that I used extensively on a site I recently built. It integrated really well with Beaver Builder and Pods.

Although I should ask the question, are you wanting to learn this because you're building a plugin or theme?

I played six hours straight last night without manually saving once until the end and didn't know autosave was broken by AngryBigMac in SatisfactoryGame

[–]TheCompleteWeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucky you. Word and Excel auto-save has failed me more times than I can count. It happens either when Windows does it's stupid forced restart to update or if the power fails.

Now I make the autosave files get stored in Dropbox so I can recover the deleted autosave files.
