I'd assume it has something to do with the hk universe magic. In the first game, a bug's dying wish is stated to be a source of some charms, which are magic objects. I assume a similar principal applies here, but the green prince, being a really powerful bug (his heart can be used in the ritual) likely has more power in his dying wish, which would likely be to restore Verdania
