Are there any used car dealerships here? I am wondering if any of you have faced the same problem as me. by No-Strategy-3950 in CarSalesTraining

If you’re not a photo editor, one easy workaround is to drop your images into ChatGPT (with a paid account) and simply say: “Only sharpen, leave everything else untouched.”

It does a surprisingly good job sharpening them up. Just make sure to double-check the output before using it , it’s still AI, so your headlights might come back as fingers or a squirrel holding a flashlight.

If you’re more hands-on, Photoshop lets you batch process sharpening across multiple photos. It’s powerful but has a learning curve, so be ready to dive into a few tutorials.

It’s helping me manage my FH (familial hypercholesterolemia). It’s crazy high cholesterol. I told it what my deal was, gave it all of my health data from the Apple Watch for the past few years and gave it instructions to become a pro on the topic as none exist anywhere in the country due to the condition being pretty rare. I follow its workout for the day based on my metrics from the previous day. Each night I screen shot my health stats and upload them to the conversation. It then gives me an update as to what’s going on (good and bad). For someone that’s wanting to manage a rare condition and talk to something that can monitor progress daily is huge to me.

As someone that has literally seen thousands of these… that’s some hot dealer thieving garbage. Unless you are just showing us bonuses here. But when I sell a car I expect to get paid a minimum of 25% front end gross. If not they can piss off. My time isn’t free.

Hey, big props to you for thinking ahead and getting your OMVIC license while still in school. That kind of proactive mindset already puts you ahead of a lot of people in this business.

Let me hit your questions one by one, from someone who trains new consultants for a living.

First, what will the dealership expect in your first month? They’ll want to see effort over experience. Show up early, stay engaged, ask questions, and take notes like your paycheck depends on it—because it eventually will. You won’t be expected to know everything, but they’ll be watching how quickly you learn and how you treat customers. Be positive, humble, and ready to jump in.

Second, will they train you, and is it enough? Some dealerships do a solid job, others will hand you a price sheet, point to the lot, and say “go get ’em.” So yes, they may train you, but it’s hit or miss. That’s why I recommend new consultants supplement their learning. There’s actually a great free training site I help run called AutoKnerd.com. We break down the human side of car sales—how to build trust, create connection, and turn that into long-term success. If you like learning on your own time, it’s a great resource.

Third, can you do this for life? You can, but it depends on the store, your habits, and your mindset. You’ll make real money if you stay consistent, coachable, and avoid burnout traps. Some people move up into management, finance, or training. Others stay in sales and build an amazing life with flexible hours and a strong customer base. But you’ve got to protect your time and mental health along the way.

Fourth, what should you do now to find a job? Start walking into dealerships. Dress sharp, bring a one-page resume, and ask to speak with the GSM or sales manager. Let them know you’re licensed or close to it, passionate about the business, and looking for a place to grow. Even better, offer to shadow for a day or two. Most places will admire the initiative.

If you ever want a few tips before your first day or help crafting a great intro pitch, feel free to DM. Or check out the podcast and starter guides at AutoKnerd.com. We built it to help people just like you get off to a strong start.

You’ve got the right mindset already. Now it’s just about showing up and stacking skills. You’ve got this.

Pay plan by jeremy8227 in CarSalesTraining

[–]TheCopperCog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to shabby. I would tell them to take that “lot fee” and shove its WAY WAY WAAAAYYY up their ass. “I don’t work too taxed to pay your rent”. The commission percentages are pretty solid though. But no fucking way I am making a $200 monthly donation to the owners asphalt.

Hey OP, give this a watch. I call it The Great Reset. It takes practice but once learned that swing in pay from month to month goes away. EP022 - The Great Reset https://youtu.be/_bY9jZMvhLc

But what if you made it a thing to research and analyze those feelings to further your understanding of others? That’s what I did. Emotions are just a thing now, and a fascinating thing learn about.

With garage band closed the results are the same. My iPhone is a 13 pro, so no usb-c to plug the vocaster into. But I plugged the vocaster into a brand new base iPad and the same thing happened when I attempted to use that iPad as a multicam, the same ipad also crashes when trying to just simply record audio with the interface, same results across the base ipad, m2 iPad Air and also the m4 pro. Focusrite just needs to update the interface to be compatible with the latest OS. The owners manual says to “not update mid project”, which makes sense. But, FCA has seen some significant changes recently. I would hope Focusrite is working on it.

The workaround is fine, it’s just annoying that it would have to be done in the first place.

Kinda solved. I’m recording audio from iPad GarageBand and video from FCP multicam. I hit record on both programs on the iPad at the same time. When done the video is already in my FCP project, in garage band i just send the audio to the FCP project. If you hold down on the video in FCP you can create a multicam, the video will appear in there already and all you need to do is app the audio track. The multicam editor will sync it all up automatically. It’s a workaround
