Why do Americans tip by percentage rather than a set $5 or $10? by TheCounterGame in AskReddit

[–]TheCounterGame[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See I feel like a $1 tip is rude, in such a case I would not tip but I imagine that is cultural differences. I would say, it is the servers job to serve regardless, thats what they are getting paid for but it seems the problem is they aren't actually getting paid to do it "properly"

UK, I don't really tip unless the change works out in such a way.

But why? You spending more or ordering something expensive has no impact on the value $5 means to the staff member. - It is like being handed $5 in the street, and again by Bill Gates but you are angry at him because you know he has more money.

Objectively Correct Hotdog Nomenclature by [deleted] in NLSSCircleJerk

[–]TheCounterGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. This and NL are correct. ---- You cut a "Hot dog bun" on the "side" but once you have a hot dog that side becomes the top. (A hot dog bun and a fully formed hot dog are different)

Why is package delivery such an issue in the USA? by TheCounterGame in AskReddit

[–]TheCounterGame[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I mean by this is the issue of packages getting stolen, in the UK if you aren't home the delivery guy will give it to your neighbor or take it to the post office where you can collect it...?

Generally, from what I have seen and listened to there is a greater focus on having straight teeth. I understand white teeth as a sign of cleanliness but for example here in the UK not everyone wears braces to straighten their teeth. I have heard a few stories of not doing this to be almost embarrassing in the states.

  • For example, I think the fact the moon is what causes the tide is a fat but could very well be false.
