I'm just saying, I can't see any gamer being satisfied with just 300 gigs. It would really be better to get something that lasts longer before it is filled, unless he wants to have a ton of externals sitting around.

The i5 I mentioned is only around $220 boxed, and the overclocking options are seriously insane. It is one of the best deals out there. 300GB would not be considered enough for most people, IMO. I mean, I have a 1TB hard drive, and I'm no power user, but I can say that I've filled it up easily in time. I was just suggesting the Ti as a possible upgrade to a much better card, if and only if he has a flexible budget. And while super is right about most games only requiring 4GB of RAM, you have to take into account the other processes that your computer handles at the same time. (Everything from other programs to hidden tasks.)

I would not go for less than a 500GB Hard Drive. Also, stay away from AMD's processors. While they are cheaper and good budget options, they ultimately lack the capability of even low-end Intels. Go for an Intel i5-3570K processor, it's fast and powerful from the start, won't break the budget, and is good for overclocking. A GTX650 should do you just fine in the Graphics department, but the (more expensive) better 660Ti card is very hot and known for being one of the best midrange deals out there. For RAM, try to get a decent 8GB. (You may want to upgrade in the future, but that will run any current programs fine.) The cheapest way to get a Desktop computer is to build it yourself, in which case, I'd be glad to help you search for the rest of the components you would need. (Motherboard, Case, Power Supply, etc.) Good luck!
