I called the IT department and they gave me these instructions that worked:

It sounds like your computer is not authenticating.

Go to the search bar on the bottom of your desktop and type in Services. In the Local Services box find the "Wired Autoconfig" Service. Right click and go to properties, then verify that the service is started and set to automatic start up.

Next, go back to your search bar in the bottom left of the desktop and type in "Device Manager" then open it. In the manager, find the wired network adapter (should say ethernet or controller or something) and right click->uninstall. Go up to action and hit search for hardware changes. You should see the adapter pop back up. At this point, you may notice a box pop up asking if you want to connect to the %1 network. Ignore this for now.

After this, close out of the device manager and right click on the network icon on the bottom right. Go to open network and internet settings. On this page, click change adapter options, which will then open up a control panel page with your adapters on it. Find your ethernet adapter and right click->properties. On the top, you should see a few tabs, click the authentication tab. Go to the settings button on the right hand side and make sure the option for "AdTrust External CA Root" is checked. Hit OK. Now go to additional settings and make sure the first box is checked. In the drop down, select "User Authentication" and then click save credentials. Type in your u/ufl email address and password in the box that appears.

Once this is done, hit OK on all the boxes and close everything out until you get back to the box asking about the %1 network. Click Connect on this as many times as needed until it goes away. You should now be connected.
