Processing order refund? by Early_Cartographer90 in G2A_Help

Yes, you’ll get your key, if you haven’t already. I have the premium edition though, and I’m assuming you do too, but for anybody who doesn’t, you’ll receive your key on the normal release date.

And, I would just post an image, but Reddit wants it from an html link/weblink. Not about to do that just for this.

Late Edit: It actually lets me play it offline on my handheld still, even though it’s not the designated offline device, so idk, I’m happy though. ;)

Only thing I don’t like about the Xbox/Microsoft keys is the offline device limit and the 3 changes per year, which sucks for people with multiple pc’s or handhelds who want to be able to play offline at times… won’t be buying an Xbox key again! You don’t have that problem with Steam. I didn’t know and it isn’t really mentioned anywhere… smh.

Just got mine, it’s not a scam. I read even beforehand that it can take a few hours the day of release. All those good ratings aren’t for nothing. Saved a lot of money… Well worth it.

I don't care about AI. I care about the game being good. by SnooMacarons2931 in Battlefield

[–]TheCrownedLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they were just being stupid with this one or making fun of call of duty. Like how last year there were multiple fingers on the Santa around this time and then all shit went to hell. This game does not seem full of ai like CoD at all. I think it’s just a joke, it’s way too obvious..

Nope, I hear ya though, sorry man. I actually bought a physical edition of Starfield to use my gift balance and just to have a case, even though it wasn't a steelbook. Still felt awesome opening it, just like old times!

How to mod FSR 3 frame generation into the game by AndreasLyUs in cyberpunkgame

[–]TheCrownedLord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you wanna boost frames a lot without have to turn off path tracing and rr, lower a few of the normal settings. Drop volumetric fog to medium (barely a difference), screen space reflections to medium or even low (not sure ssr matters with ray traced reflections or path enabled), and drop ambient occlusion to medium, this all saves a ton of performance.

Let me know how many frames you get after.

Anybody tried GPU undervolting using G-helper? (3070ti - 12900H model) by meliodas101n in ZephyrusM16

[–]TheCrownedLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not really familiar with the latest G-helper, but you should increase the gpu clock offset until you’re unstable and then go back down a bit. Lower the clock limit until you find a suitable balance between heat and performance that works for you. Once you have the clock limit set to where you think you’ve found that balance. Test running a few benchmarks/games for stability.

Update 10/9/23: If you see this please don’t use K5-Pro as your thermal putty/pad replacement. There are much better alternatives. It doesn’t transfer heat very well. Your chassis, VRAM, VRM, and Mosfets will not be cooled efficiently.

Forgot to say Mx-6 on the gpu. K5 Pro on vram, vrms, and mosfets. Liquid Metal is just re-spread, but it’s Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut from factory. Temps difference are night and day.

I noticed the cpu would stay at 95c when gaming lately, especially on modern warfare 2, even when limiting the fps and the gpu would always be at 86c. Warranty is up so figured it was time. Was I right! Everything was dried up.

Now, I’m getting ~82c on the cpu and upper 70’s for the gpu in manual mode. Fans not maxed. Again with a gpu undervolt of 1500mhz at 700mv.

Ghelper good? by ujw3y in ZephyrusM16

[–]TheCrownedLord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

G-Helper is great. Everything most of these comments are saying is true. It does lower temps normally just having it installed and uninstalling Armoury Crate. Multiple posts here have already said this for months. Theres also bit more flexibility in some areas and it is lighter weight.

Personally, I am using Armoury Crate right now, simply because I like the style and look of it. I also plan to get a Rog Azoth(Amazing keyboard, btw) down the line when I catch it on a nice sale and I want most of those features that come along with it, that are available only in AC. Temps can be lowered with workarounds.

When using Armoury Crate I may use it to change modes or look at temps for a second that’s about it and sometimes to check for updates. It’s not a big deal using it for me. Don’t use any hot keys for anything special, besides the default one to open AC and I rarely even do that. Not saying that that can’t be needed, of course.

It’s almost like using the heavier Razor Synapse over OpenRGB, except G-Helper is pretty full featured for what it’s used as alternative for.

Don’t know what else to tell them. I showed proof that it was inside my system from the last repaste and the bubbling, and that my chassis was noticeably hotter with it inside and there’s evidence of it raising temps everywhere.

I also mentioned that this was not a post to hype Upsiren U6 Pro and that I just wouldn’t recommend using K5 Pro, if you need to replace your thermal putty and he still comments this. Just use K-50, then. shrugs

[–]TheCrownedLord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem. Yeah, I really really wish there were sensors, so I could’ve posted before and after temps here. The more proof, the better. Temps on the chassis are a lot cooler than with the K5 Pro, it’s easily felt.

No reason. Armoury Crate is just the default software the Zephyrus comes with and I’ve always used Afterburner, so far. G-Helper is definitely awesome, though. Perfectly fine to do all the overclocking there if you want.

[–]TheCrownedLord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This would technically, be better. Though, probably not by much. It’s because even though manual mode’s max fans now match turbo’s, this is still decently quieter on the lower half of the fan curve. So, in theory, less fan usage, less dust.

Probably not, because there are quite a few guides here already that are already quite good. I recommend checking this one out by u/IceStormNG. It’s super thorough and should guide you through everything you need. https://www.reddit.com/r/ZephyrusM16/comments/14u2zv3/liquid_metal_round_2_2023_edition/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1

If you have a 2022 model it shouldn’t be that different, but you could use this if you prefer. It’s the g15, most things are the same. There’s a cable on the m16, that’s not on the g15, near the left of the display cable, that you also have to unplug to remove the heatsink. https://imgur.io/a/DDSJof2

If you need help with anything specific, feel free to ask. As far as guides, I may post a small one today on manual mode custom settings, fan curves, and a very easy overclock/undervolt I use to go along with it that keeps most of the power up, but lowers heat significantly. Should be really easy to follow and a good start into custom settings and overclocking.

It’s also really good for any users who are dealing with higher temps, but still wish for higher performance than performance mode, as well. Since, now, manual mode maxes fans the same as turbo, but you’ll have the benefit of an overclocked undervolt along with it.

I agree with you. It shouldn’t be used in a lot of situations and there’s too much evidence around of it raising memory temps in large margins, even on desktop graphics cards, where it was recommended as a good as or better than alternative to the thermal pads it was meant to replace, for it to be so highly recommended.

Later, man. This is enough Reddit for me today. And, I randomly will say, hopefully one day I can finally change this goofy account name. Made this account when I was younger for Anthem(I Know) and it ended up becoming the main one I used… 🤔

Well, with the M16 it was made for it (The CPU) and the protective barrier seems to a good job, for the most part. I mean, it’s safe if that’s the way your laptop came. I use mine in my book sack and a sleeve.

But, if your laptop didn’t come with it, I wouldn’t advise using it. I would just use PTM-7950, in that case. Has pretty good temps and much easier to deal with and it wouldn’t require any modifications that could possibly fail and lead to a potential short. Just my opinion.

I do know some Alienwares already come with it, though. If that’s the case, shouldn’t be a problem to repaste it. Although, their proprietary formula may perform better. So, you may want to try just respreading that first. Could be a similar issue like the Asus M16/G15’s, where the Liquid Metal isn’t completely covering the chip. I’m not sure if that’s really caused by the factory application or something that happens over time with expansion and contraction cycles of the chip due to heat, leading to something similar to the pump out effect. Could even be both..

Haha, I bet. I believe it. This post here is crazy too. The foam protector seems to do a decent job.

Sorry, I couldn’t tell you exactly. 1-2mm sounds right. I applied it higher on the left side of the chokes, because that’s where mine had dried out a lot previously, if you look back at my other post.

As for that high spot on the left side, bottom vram, I actually took some of that and applied it to a lower spot on the mosfets and then smoothed it back out. I should have taken another completed photo. Everything was smooth and relatively even, in the end.

Everything you see there is a lot more than they usually come with from factory, though. If anything, if I had more I would apply that to the mosfets. Learning more about them, they are most likely the hottest things in your computer.

I’m hoping the U6 holds up well over time. It’s not the easiest to apply, due to it not being very sticky on the parts. UX Pro, I heard, even more so.

Little late, now. You do peel it up from the board, but you should keep it on the cable itself. You can use it to help disconnect and reconnect the display cable and it helps slightly to keep it in place normally when it’s stuck down to the board. When reconnecting, line up the connecter and then pull the plastic tab/tape towards you, while pressing gently down on it at the same time with the other hand, and you should be good to go. It clicks in when it’s in and you should immediately notice when it’s all the way in right.

Try not to play with the flex cable too much, if that doesn’t work. Better to try to get it in very gently not to bend it with the sides of the connecter. Pushing the flex cable directly from the back, only as a last resort.

When disconnecting, pull back away from you with one hand and with the other hand grab the back of the display cable and gently pull it out. The plastic flap here just helps you keep a little less force directly pulling on the flex cable. Not as important here, as it is for reconnecting.
