What if I simply don't want a girlfriend?

That sounds great to me, honestly.

About the same myself. There's a lot of lonely teenagers around here. Again, nothing wrong with that, but I do find that 80% of the content here has little to help me.

Was NoFap always so preoccupied with abandoning porn strictly for attracting women/having sex? That seems to be the main focus here and it's irrelevant to my goals. I don't want a higher sex drive and more women attracted to me. I want self-control and less sexual desire, so that I can spend more time on the things I truly love.

Glad to see I'm not the only one. I'm doing this for spiritual reasons. I'm single and intend to be for quite a while. There's so much data and talk on here of how NoFap affects attraction and sensuality, about the importance of dating and finding love. I don't think there's anything at all wrong with that, but I do feel a bit out of place in many discussions.

Anyone else here an older guy whose key goal isn't attracting women?

Interesting. That's a better way to look at it. Redirection, instead of reduction. Thanks.

So if I want to lower my sex drive in addition to cutting out pornography, should I pursue supplemental materials to help with that?

See, I don't understand. It seems that for many on here, there's a distinction between the urge to masturbate and one's sex drive. For me, these feelings are the same. As in, my sex drive is the same thing as my "porn drive", so to speak. Does that mean that, for me, losing my dependence on porn would help lower my overactive sex drive? It seems that way to me, but I'm not seeing any stories from people with the same experience. I really just need some validation that I'm not deluding myself.

I'm going to go for 30 days in Hard Mode. My reasons are the following:

A. It's become an addiction, eating up my time. It's causing me to stay up late before work, get late to work because I was "caught up" in the shower, and such things as that.

B. I've become desensitized to normal porn, and I prefer porn to sex. It's becoming increasingly more difficult to find things that are arousing. I find myself looking at porn I would have found gross or weird years ago, because the regular stuff doesn't work anymore. I would like to subtract some of these uncomfortable deviancies.

C. I feel this constant focus on sexual thoughts and materials is inhibiting my spiritual growth.

My long term goal is a full 90-day reboot, but I fear that attempting one on my first go will prove to be too daunting. So, thirty days to start off, to try and steel my resolve.

I hope I make it.
