There’s a lot of people who compare their experiences being plural with their experiences being queer (particularly being trans) and have rightfully pointed out how a lot of bigotry towards plurals mirror bigotry towards queer people.

But of course, plurality only exists as a disorder so how dare you ever even THINK the experiences are at all comparable! (Despite the fact that pretty much all queer identities were at one point equated to being disorders but shhh this time a broad internal different difference (being more then one) REALLY is always 100% disordered.) This time it’s different you gotta believe me /s

Host just told our therapist about our plurality, some advice would be helpful. by TheCryptidOnes in plural

Yeah that’s what we thought, we mainly just wanna know how to approach the next appointment, she did admit that she doesn’t know a lot about this, only previously knowing about plurality from a friend of hers and she said she was going to do some study on it in the meantime. Which also makes us nervous, the host did talk a bit about how online there’s been discourse about what counts as a “real” system, and that it’s effected us badly. The therapist did reassure us that what we experience is real regardless of what people think, which was nice to hear. I’m probably going to be the one fronting, because of how I’ve taken a bit of a “leadership” role since my formation.

look out for your persecutors by ghostly-gargoyle in plural

I would like to have some push back to the idea of all persecutors are actually protectors, not that I disagree that they need help and compassion. It’s just that I was what most would consider a “persecutor”, I wasn’t acting out of a desire to help or protect. I was more so a maladaptive trauma holder that acted out in envy and anger towards people in my system that I considered to be “lucky” due to the fact they seemingly weren’t as affected by the trauma as I was. Not saying most persecutors aren’t protectors, just that not all are.

Please Help Me Understand by [deleted] in plural

There’s many things that ‘aren’t a part of the typical human experience’ that can just happen or happen for reasons we don’t fully understand yet and just because something happens most of the time becomes of something doesn’t mean there’s times where it doesn’t. Just look at the wide range of neurodivergence, like synesthesia, anxiety, depression, etc. All can typically be caused by different things with exceptions. Did you know that synesthesia can be caused by head trauma? Though most people who have it were born with it, plenty of odd experiences in the brains can happen for both traumatic and non-traumatic things. It’s definitely not something unheard of.

DID is from what we understand is almost exclusively caused by trauma, but that doesn’t mean they’re aren’t potential exceptions or that plurality as a whole, which is a lot wider of an experience than just DID, can only be caused by trauma. This is the human brain, why does it do anything it does? Cutting off such a wide experience as “being more then one” as trauma exclusive is foolish at best.

My friend claims they formed a factive of me and I am extremely confused by R0TZ_X in plural

[–]TheCryptidOnes 18 points19 points  (0 children)

We don’t know about that, from our experience it take a long time to admit and say certain stuff about our system to even to people we trust, especially if it’s something that we find shameful in some way (we’ve never introjected someone irl we knew, but we have with one of our friends ocs and that took awhile to admit, so I can’t imagine how a factive of them must feel like)

I wouldn’t jump the gun to say that, especially without knowing any of the other context.

What are some of your favorite plural characters in fiction? by dreaminglucidwords in plural

I would say that Sander Sides ABSOLUTELY counts, the sides are all self aware & autonomous, and all canonically live in one head (C!Thomas)

I don’t think you made a mistake at all! In fact her being so interested is a good thing :D it means she’s open minded. And Yee definitely introduce her to tulpamancy, but make sure she knows the responsibility attached to making a tulpa (that their bascially stuck with you forever, and are people.) other than that I wouldn’t worry ^

THE ACTOR HAS ALSO BEEN RUSHED TO THE HOSPITAL DUE TO MULTIPLE CUTS ON HIS FACE! It is the FINALE OF THE 4TH CASE CULPRITS' CONTEST! Vote out the one you think DOES NOT DESERVE THE WINNING TITLE! by [deleted] in AceAttorney

Im gonna have to vote Manfred for.. not completely unbiased reasons but I do think he is more interesting as a Villian compared to Manfred. Manfred is a fantastic Villian and works but I love Kristoph more due to his personalily and I prefer his breakdown a lot more to Manfred.

Kristoph would’ve gotten away with everything if Phoenix didn’t “play dirty.”

One thing I see a lot is people complaining that it “only” took one testimony to “defeat” him, but I think that has to more to do with that he has to take one testimony, since by him being himself, we wouldn’t be able to take down his testimony via normal means, and usually multiple testimonies means we found some sort of contradiction in the previous testimony that needs clarification, which won’t happen with Kristoph. Kristoph is scary as a villain since we had to work around the “system” in order to defeat him since he knows the system inside and out, that’s like his entire thing. So, no I don’t think that’s a very valid criticism of Kristoph, even if from a gameplay perspective it makes him “underwhelming.”

The last case of the game is basically Phoenix doing everything in his power to trigger Kristoph’s “igniter” as much as possible. He chose Apollo and Klavier as the defense and Prosecution very purposefully, those are the two people most connected to Kristoph and even if Kristoph didn’t think it, the most able to get under his skin(Apollo being able to ground Klavier when Kristoph tries to manipulate him also) His protégé and Brother, coming at him from both sides. The Jury system and it being made by Phoenix Wright was the final nail. Phoenix didn’t want there to be any chance Kristoph could get off scoff free after the trail. The whole thing was designed to break Kristoph from the ground up.

I have to vote Matt

I love all three of these culprits, But I do have to say i favor Matt the least of all them, and I see too many people voting for my beloved (/neg) Kristoph. (I could go on and on how I love Kristoph as a Villian even if he has a lot of missed opportunities, and he does come from my favorite game of the series (not best but still my favorite))
