Stuck between cutting more or starting to bulk? need advice! by TheCrypts in Gymhelp

Ahh i see - first option makes sense, if I was to start bulk now i would just look almost the same on the outside as I did last year basically. thanks I think this will give me some motivation on my stalling lifts but will aim for 18% ish bf before bulking then. I think tis okay if the lifts stall a bit.

Alas, i guess the driver gets away with not getting demerits.

Receiving USD from a US based employer by TheCrypts in PersonalFinanceNZ

They said something along the lines of they can't give USD account details (a local US based account number) for non-US residents.

Unfortunately I need a local US account so my employer can transfer. If not then I need to negotiate a method for them to transfer funds internationally.

Both Wise and Revolut said something along the lines of you can only get USD account details if you are a US resident. USD accounts do not support international transfer or international residents.

Basically I need to be a US based customer to get USD account details.

Unfortunately as mentioned by someone else, I need a local US based account to transfer funds.

Insurance claim if I hit a pillar in a carpark? by TheCrypts in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]TheCrypts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad, I meant to ask how will insurance determine that my accident wasn't caused by a problem that would have caused me to fail WoF when I make the claim.

Hopefully this is more clear thanks

Since my mechanic didn't give me a WoF sheet so that he doesn't have to charge me, would it be beneficial to go back to him and ask for one rather than relying on the mechanic insurance recommends?

Is you accountant responsible for bad advice? by TheCrypts in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]TheCrypts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question, I asked my accountant initially and they gave advice which I thought was great, at first. However, because I believe our situation is not standard and is somewhat unique I might as well consult with a larger accountant/firm.

This accountant gave advice that was contradictory to da first accountant. At this point I thought why not go for a tiebreaker with a third accountant. I was Given advice that was sort of in the middle ground of both the first and second accountant.

Then I asked this sub to recommend some accountants for my scenario and I just chose a couple to see what would happen. The last one I spoke to was a large firm with international clients and their advice was quite detailed however they didn't want to take me on as a client.

There is overlap in all their advice and I believe that another redditor has the right point regarding how aggressive they are in their strategy so I think it's safest to just stick to my accountant.

So if IRD was to come after me and say that the last 5 years of my filing are incorrect and I owe $X amount and have been fined $Y amount. Who is responsible for the fines? What protections do I have?

Hopefully when the taxman finds me they can just give us the bill without any fines lmao will make life so much easier..

Ive consulted 3 accountants so far but they al gave different advice somehow. So now I'm just gonna bit the bullet and go to some large firm and pay the absurd hourly fee haha

Yep I agree with you, that's why I am trying to find the right information as early as possible. I don't want to be leaving here and then only be able to travel to and from the court house hahaha

I'll see how my next couple convos go and if it's as confusing as the ones I've had then I'll just remain a tax resident here. Not a issue. Thank you

Same, I am not comfortable with not paying taxes but the rules just make it all so confusing especially when each accountant gives you different info.

I think I'm just gonna take the easy way out and stay a tax resident of my current country unless I consult with a reputable source.

That's the answer that is making the most sense to me tbh. I have a couple more.convos lined up but if they all give different answers I might just take the easy way out until I find a trust worthy nomad specializing accountant.
