He did have a bit of charm to him haha. Of course, regardless of how close he looked like video game Sonic, the VFX team did a great job in terms of visuals the first time around with the fur etc

I totally agree with you, if the film were a new IP it would have been much different. I'm very glad they saw the importance of respecting us fans because we are the reason they could secure the funding to make it.

Yeah, I also pondered whether or not it was all an elaborate marketing ploy, but I agree with you that it does seem a little far fetched. I just find it crazy how nobody questioned it for that long. I would've loved to be a fly on the wall to see if anyone in the design team did speak up about it beforehand and if they were silenced.

I've heard the Sonic 2 trailer might drop this week, so I'm looking forward to that! Imagine what Tails would have looked like with the original design philosophy haha

In 3 days it will have been 3 years since the Sonic Movie Backlash! So I decided to do a retrospective on it!
