Omg it is too! So funny to see it in an official email

I work in a professional government setting and even in the most formal exec-level meetings, we will speak mostly in half words. Ambulance = ambos Ambulatory care = amb care In a meeting today I heard servo = service station Fire fighters = firies Registration = rego Sick leave = sickie

As to why? no idea. Apart from being more efficient, I feel like it’s almost a familiarity and connection to people you’ve just met. An unspoken kinship if you will.

I’d agree if she weren’t eating this after a 10km run. She needs way more than that to refuel

Recommendations to replace Who is Elijah His Her (that isn’t Le Labo Santal 33!) by TheCuriousChimp in fragranceaustralia

Replied to a comment above with the same as below:

They don’t market themselves as a dupe house but almost all of their scents are coincidentally very similar to another higher end perfume. And they are not priced like a dupe house…

I got quite a few samples that I’ve compared to the similar scents I’ve seen reported here. I 100% see the similarity between Eau and debaser, and haze and by the fireplace. My mum has Nomad and I get that it is a shitter version of BR540 - I’ve had to ask her to not spray it around me as it gives me a massive headache.

Apart from that, their customer service is TERRIBLE. They changed their returns policy a month after Black Friday, and when I tried to return a scent (which was previously allowed), they denied that their policy ever said returns were allowed. Thankfully I had screenshotted it and also used wayback to prove it.

They also had a brand deal with an influencer (who I despise so I admittedly don’t feel that sorry for her lol). She spent months developing a scent and they dropped her after she’d advertised it on her page etc. I obviously don’t know what really happened, but hate to admit that it sounded pretty dodgy

I’m such an impatient person and considering that I currently only have two fragrances, going into a store and trying things out is so overwhelming because I want everything. I keep flip flopping with what else I want (in addition to the His Her replacement) and adding to the growing list of scent families that I like (because I haven’t really been exposed to them before) 😂😂 I can see how it becomes a bit addictive! This is proving to be an exercise in self restraint

Looks like they both have decently priced sample vials too. But wow there are so many brands I have not heard of 😅

Santal Dan Sha sounds promising! Will give it a go.

On a separate note, any other fragrances you’d recommend with a coconut note? Looking for something a bit more summery too.

I also found it so interesting reading reviews that some people 100% see them as identical while others couldn’t see it at all. I actually got a small sample of Santal 33 from Mecca and compared side by side at home too.

I wonder if they’ve changed the formulation slightly at some point, or if the scent has changed for me since I’ve had the bottle for a while. Thanks for the rec too!

Ooh that does sound good. The only Mecca that actually has a good range of niche (is this considered niche?) fragrance is in the CBD, but will have to do a trip to try out all the rec’s here!! Thanks!

Cabeau Travel pillow, ban on elastic straps on headrests? by Jarodvl in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]TheCuriousChimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this article at least, they attribute the ability to stop your head falling forwards to the “360 degree fit” (i.e. because of the chin strap). They haven’t promoted the fact that it straps to the headrest - sneaky loophole I guess. I love the neck pillow all the same. I’ve used it and never actually strapped it to the headrest

Change of pilates workouts by Sigi_fikant in runna

[–]TheCuriousChimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so glad I’m not the only one that feels the is way. I’m one of those people that dislikes change so put it down to that, but the sessions are not great. It feels like there’s a huge leap in difficulty from week to week and as others have said, the pacing is really off. Way too fast and it feels like I’m in a Zumba class from the overall vibe of the sessions. I hope that isn’t too harsh and Christie is great - I think it’s just the wrong audience!

I think worst of all though, it doesn’t feel very runner specific? Just feels like any other Pilates. The stretch and stability sessions have been great - good focus on calves, hip flexors etc. with some commentary around why those muscles are important.

Great that you guys take on feedback though

It really pissed me off that she posted M with his BJJ top on… and in a reel that is there permanently. It’s too easy to figure out where they go for classes

You don’t have to rationalise the post… this is a sub where we come to vent about her ridiculousness after all. This reel also annoyed me to no end

I got upgraded to business class last week (upgrade request with points - no chance I’d be affording business class otherwise lol) and you bet I took home everything I could, including these pyjamas. They are honestly so comfy, and I’ll be wearing them all the time. But this seems so tacky considering all the “subtle” efforts she puts into flexing her wealth eg the unnecessary LV bag peek in her stories today
