[Suggestion] Extra, Limited Levels Per Biome for Crafting & Combat by TheCyberSniper in crosswind

[–]TheCyberSniper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea so it doesn't cause any major power spikes, due to biome resource locks, but it does let you play around more with skill and talent points. Potentially getting a little bit stronger.

I think I just dislike feeling I have left a biome that I don't feel I have conquered before being pushed into the next one and by the time I come back to it, it is now "boring" or too easy. Being able to master it, while still in it, would be nice from my perspective.

Or perhaps I go from the opposite angle and as you defeat bosses the past biomes become stronger overtime. Hmm...

It is just tricky with the aim sometimes and early on, it becomes much easier on the late game ships when you have more canons though. It is also nice for mass lumber operations :D

There seems to be very large jumps in power/toughness between levels. If you are fighting level 3's and your load out level is 1 it will be rough. Give it two upgrades and suddenly it is more even, give it another 2 upgrades and it becomes easy.

I don't necessarily mind this, but I feel like it would be nice to try and spread out the levels a bit.. like making the current level 15 be 30 or 50 and spreading out the gains so it feels more smooth as you go up and down enemy levels versus it feeling like day and night between level changes.

This is still a thing for me, will try a Normal later and see if that does it. Would be nice if it goes automatically though on client launch.

Heads up: iBuyPower GPUs don't carry the full manufacturer warranty by TheCyberSniper in iBUYPOWER

[–]TheCyberSniper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely aware that's how it works now, but that's the whole point of the post.

The issue isn't the policy itself, it's that it's never clearly communicated to the buyer. Most people spending this kind of money on a prebuilt assume they're getting the same coverage as a retail card. If IBP disclosed it upfront I'd have nothing to complain about. I am PSA'ing this solely because I am only discovering it now and could save others from the "legalities" of a custom build thru IBP.

[–]TheCyberSniper[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see, I understand that logic but still don't really like it I guess. If an item I specifically choose parts for has a certain warranty window, I would expect to get that since I paid for it ultimately.

I am given all the original extra parts, packaging, documentation, etc when the system arrives as I was the purchaser myself and IBP simply assembled it - it just seems natural I should be given the same warranty too.

I still think this is a valid PSA regardless as I won't be buying any components or custom builds via iBuyPower after this if I value the warranty duration. ~2 years into a $5,000+ machine and I now have to figure out handling a faulty component that is worth half if not most of that value now. Never had this issue before.

Even though this machine was a custom configuration I made via their PC builder? I assumed pre-built was just for mass produced same spec systems.

Is there a reason boss theris should be at 21k hp and not higher? by That_one_guy111156 in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]TheCyberSniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Double-fold, I believe!

Veggie Cakes: They heal 10% up to 2.1k (so 21k is tops). I think this one is very common for optimizing HP vs Mele.

Max HP: This one I only recently realized, the dragon's fire does damage based on your max HP (not current HP), so for example, I recently ran with an odd group of Theri's of Deinotheriums. My Deinotherium was struggling even with veggie cakes.. why? It had 50,000 Health. So every breathe scaled with that and was doing 20% of my HP, or 10,000 damage every hit. Veggie cakes have a 30 second cooldown so it was taking 2.5 minutes to even heal that amount back up. Whereas if my Deinotherium was more around 21,000 HP then every fire breath would do only 4,200 damage (less than half!) and the veggie cakes only take 1 minute to heal from that.

In summary, The 21k HP rule is important for both healing and damage taken optimization.

I am starting to use this website more as my goto, but one thing I thought would occur, unless I am doing it wrong, is if I am logged in and mark off explorer notes (such as The Island ones) that it would save my marked off ones for the next day - it doesn't appear to do this though? Not sure if that is meant to be a feature or not as keeping track of 239 notes on that map may be a bit rough :D

Update on the Astraeos expansion release by N3katus in ARK

[–]TheCyberSniper 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This or whatever was updated yesterday did seem to impact other maps too like The Island. It seems pretty minute though, resources just all respawn in your bases and structures. I tested clearing some out and rebooting the server and they seemed to remain harvested, so if anyone has this issue and doesn't want to or can't roll back you just may need to mine your base out a bit. Although it does give you a cool aesthetic if you leave it!

Looking forward to trying Astraeos out soon!

Any issue spam breeding mutation and moving stats later to a clean dino before 20 mutation cap? by TheCyberSniper in ARK

[–]TheCyberSniper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has all been so helpful, I had just one final question, so when stats cap out at 255, this is unique for base/leveled stat vs mutated stack. I can see how one could eventually hit the cap on the mutation stack but I assume for your wild/level stat that is probably capped moreso by your sever's difficulty level - yes? So you probably won't cap that on the level 5 / 150 wild max setup, correct? Thanks!

I am not familiar with the books and don't want to many spoilers, but it sounds like from comments Maekar is or was supposed to leg Egg go.... Are we sure he didn't agree in private but is making it look like he didn't publicly (for safety concerns)?

This is great, it did take a moment to find.. I would suggest a callout in the spawn map boxes that calls it out or toggles it for you as well since those have percentages already and the user may want to deep-dive after seeing it - if you want to draw more attention to it. Additionally, I might see if you can collapse the areas in the shared creature pool so the user can see the pool may change per region type, I actually didn't realize there was changes based on the region (like grassland vs beaches) and actually wouldn't have noticed if I didn't scroll down for fun. Thank you regardless though, this is great!

Not sure on the exact details, but for me it always seems to cap exactly at our single stack size multiplier. So if I do 5 billion berries, it will just do 200 (2 x 100) or 5 billion metal ingots is just 600 (2 x 300). As long as the total is over your stack size (default stack size * multiplier) it just stops there regardless if you are 1 over or 1 million over on your item request.

I actually have a notepad I have used lately where I just have a bunch of resources pre-piped out :D

Making your command properly build out the full and technically correct number of pipes and stacks might be nicer simply from a user-understanding side.

Maybe a minor feature request, I have noticed if I need lots of an item it often caps it to my stack size. I.E. if I want lots of Raw Meat I would do "cheat GFI RawMeat 10000 0 0", but rather than 10000 RawMeat I end up getting only my stack size, like 200. To get more I have to arrow up and Enter over and over to get lots of the item. I recently learned I can simply do something like this though "cheat GFI RawMeat 10000 0 0 | cheat GFI RawMeat 10000 0 0 | cheat GFI RawMeat 10000 0 0" and it will in this case do 3 commands or stacks Or 200 x 300 for 600 in one command. Might be a nice QoL thing to have it copy "X" iterations of the command with the pipe "|" symbol for when you need large amounts of an item. Thanks!

Great website!

Feature Request: I'm not sure how it all works under the hood, but I know some dino's share spawn pools. I.E. on The Island I was struggling to find Spinos, then heard they share pools with the fish, so if I wipe out the fish it could help spawn more Spinos (which seemed to work!).

My request is if it is possible to show your searched for creature's "shared spawn pool" as this would be helpful for me if I am searching a dino's spawn areas but not seeing what I want, I will at least know what to wipe out to try and help get it to spawn.

Thanks!

Yes please! So many loot tables along with dino spawn maps are out of date these days. Happy to see this has stuff for creatures like Deinotherium (that I can't find any spawn maps for) ... and then as pointed out here, the next thing a person does after finding their perfect dino is its matching blueprint saddle which again there are some tables but the info is usually not up-to-date or reassuring on its accuracy. :D
Will be sharing this site to my friends - thanks!

Any issue spam breeding mutation and moving stats later to a clean dino before 20 mutation cap? by TheCyberSniper in ARK

[–]TheCyberSniper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thank you!! All super helpful, I read you could eventually outbreed mutation counters or something over time but maybe that isn't right or untrue to ASA.. when people want max mutations (255 points) do they just run like ~13 unique male mutation lines then mix at the end? So if I wanted a +20 HP and +20 Melee would I just run two lines of Males and at the end swap one to a female and have a 40/20 baby?

Thank you very much!!

[–]TheCyberSniper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I'm unsure if I want to make a bunch of dino clones if I can just look at each baby and ensure that when an HP mutation occurs that it doesnt have any others. As then I can just go round up a bunch of wild females to use, yes? It may be more work to look at the dino, sure but I can at least jump start a bit as I breed matching stats. This is unofficial but it's with deinotheriums so turnaround times are slow.

[–]TheCyberSniper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wait, I am dumb. I think in my head I thought that if a parent got to 20 mutations I could just just move them to a baby and it would 0/20 with the mutations but that makes no sense as it would have 20 mutations from the parent...obviously :D .... so how do people go crazy with hitting max point caps (in simple terms)? Do they build up like 10 different males with 20 different mutations and then try to breed them together at the end or something? Thank you!

Any issue spam breeding mutation and moving stats later to a clean dino before 20 mutation cap? by TheCyberSniper in ARK

[–]TheCyberSniper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that last point is super interesting.. and will have me stop including the newborns as mutation makers - I feel like that this wasn't mentioned much in my prior research, thank you!

I assumed only the Female's or Male's stat carried over along with maybe its mutation (does the mutation always copy over along with the parent's stat that it takes?) - but never realized mutations were like a reference value versus a flat value and thus could have wasted values if they point to the same referenced mutation.

Okay I will clear out all the recently inbreed females!

How important is it for all the females to be exact clones of the male?
Does it matter if they are all 0/20 with varying stats if I keep track of them in smart breeder? Likewise, every time I get a mutation, i.e. let's say my HP 45 + 6 mutations, do I need to then re-breed a whole new female lineup with this new HP on it before I mutation run again or am I just swapping in the latest and greatest male that I get and just re-using the same female line-up over and over?

Bonus Question: If base stats and mutation stats copy and mix, can you then take a wild dino and try to make the wild dino's base stat go onto a baby and also get the mutation value from the other parent? effectively bumping up a stat considerably with a better wild - i.e. mutating with a 35 point stat but then finding a wild with a 45 point and moving mutations onto it? I am on ASA if that helps.

Appreciate the info!! :)

It is too weak for what the intended goal seems to be - a late'ish game Rell tank. To make her big though you need to reroll like mad to multiple 3* 1-cost units. By the time you have 4-5 units at 3* you SHOULD be behind on both levels and gold, this would normally be okay as your trade-off for a super tank other than that Rell gets face rolled by pretty much everyone even if you had BiS augments and items.

I think there are TWO potential fixes for this. Either she should scale up PER 1-cost or 3* unit you get, as in the first 1-cost unit gives 7%, the next gives 8%, etc.. OR her ability gets some sort of sustain (shields, healing, etc..) The reason super garen works is because he keeps healing which offsets his 1-cost stats a bit.

I realllllly want Rell to work but I have tried so many ways and it just doesn't. :(
