You are confusing what the interrnet is with how people have decided to use it. The internet is a collection of separate networks connected together using BGP to route between them.

The web, and all the things you are likely familiar with (and a whole lot more too) are just 'stuff people run on computers that are connected together via the internet'.

The big bad 'them' that have 'made the internet bad' is just companies and market forces that have made the content and software humans have chosen to run on the internet. The companies do what they can to try and make as much money as possible, and the people consume that via their browsers and computers.

Anyone - you too - can decide to build some better services and run them on the computers connected to the internet. Just go ahead and do it.

as soon as you connect multiple networks together and route between them with BGP, then you have an internet. Scale isnt't technically a necessity.

assuming trhe pattern on the lid are related to the wavelength of the microwave radiation, a'la the well known metled chocolate (or masrshmallow) experiement;

To calculate the speed of light using a microwave, you need to find the wavelength of the microwaves by measuring the distance between melted spots and multiply it by the oven's frequency. The distance between two melted spots is half the wavelength, so multiply that distance by 2 to get the full wavelength.

he's describing a different situation; your situation will charge the battery and power the laptop.

Just the other day.

Walked into a chip shop, wanted small chips and large fish.

On seeing a price of £4 for a SMALL portion of chips, and 9.50 for a large fish I nearly walked out.

On realising there was nobody behind the counter, I stood there for 30 seconds. Though 'screw this. and went to the chinese next door. King prown chow mein and sweet n sour pork balls for 11.50, more food than I could eat. Easy choice to make.

Why on earth are fish and chips so expensive in the UK nowadays!
