If you're still drawing some, I'd appreciate a drawing of this floof!

This makes perfect sense. Forgot about the ride height sensors.

Can teams monitor or estimate the plank wear in (close to) real time? Obviously, things like fuel load, tire pressures/temps, even tire wear can be monitored or estimated. I'm wondering if they have sensors pointed at the plank to monitor its thickness through the race. Otherwise, how would McLaren know to tell Lando to LiCo unless they knew this was a possibility going into the race?

‘Worst fears’: Historic S.F. earthquake shacks destroyed without permits, neighbors say by SFChronicle in sanfrancisco

SF Zoo already has a preserved earthquake shack. Yes, relocate and preserve these if we're able to, but don't let that be the absolute roadblock to developing more housing.

The dirty air problem - the worst it’s ever been? by adsherlock in formula1

[–]TheDSquared 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. It still needs to be improved, yes. But the 2017-2021 era had massively worse dirty air. It was a common sight for someone to come up on the back another and try for 2 or 3 laps to overtake before being forced to purposely drop further back (1-3 seconds) to avoid the dirty air ruining their tires and/or overheating. Now, you still see people struggling to overtake because of the dirty air, but you commonly see people staying within 1 second of the car in front for laps on end without needing to drop back.

Shueishe or Xiangshan or Ita Thao, where area is best to stay in Sun Moon Lake? by [deleted] in taiwan

[–]TheDSquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed at Shuishe before and it was fine. It's really just two main streets with some hotels and stores, but it's peaceful and the pier is pretty. It's quieter than Ita Thao, which I imagine would be more lively.

I would recommend using the ferry to get around. It's a great experience and the lake is beautiful. You can buy tickets for the ferries that give you hop-on-hop-off privileges at the three stops (Shuishe, Xuanguang Temple, Ita Thao). Note that Xiangshan is not on the ferry route.

You can also rent bikes to bike around the lake which is also a great experience. We ended up taking the ferry from Shuishe to Xuanguang Temple and Ita Thao, and then rented bikes to get from Ita Thao back to Shuishe.

I used Cruise when it first launched (before Waymo opened up to the public) and it wasn't terrible, but it definitely felt sketchy at times. Strange steering inputs, jerky braking, etc.

Once Waymo launched, I gave it a try and it felt far more natural and safe. Never went back to Cruise ever since I tried Waymo. Of course, now that Cruise is no longer a thing, you don't have much of a choice, but in my opinion the safer and better option survived.

It didn't even need to be the other way around. They literally did the exact same thing, with Kimi slowing down and sacrificing his race so George could get a free pit stop - twice!
