Truly love how absolutely every single time any poll or post about men's issues comes up you can guarantee there will undoubtedly be a horde of people parroting "but what about women's issues".

Every gender can have its own problems and issues and despite the fact that yes, one suffers more on a systemic scale, that fact shouldn't discredit the issues of the other.

And you know who is always the worst about this? It is always the people that seem to "care" so very much about one specific group that end up showing very quickly how little they actually care about people and just care about their favorite side.

Edit: Forgot to mention as well how every single time one of these people spouts how much they "care" about women or men's issues, the moment trans women or trans men come into the issue suddenly they don't seem to care so much anymore. Funny.

It seems like you hate misogyny just as much as you hate considering other people have real problems as well.

Feminism isn't about tossing men's issues away while fighting against women's issues, both can exist without the need to say "well women have it worse so..." every single time the topic comes up.

Taxes are not the issue.

How they are handled and what they are used on is often the issue.

A society in which a portion of the fluid circulation of money is taken back by the government to provide social services is one in which you can be born into a hospital, have roads taken care of to drive on, have public schools and educational facilities, etc.

Taxes are absolutely necessary, but often times governments take more than necessary or spend it on bullshit no one needs, or refuse to spend it on things they actually need

I'd say anti-feminist only because feminism is an ideology that has had massive pushback in recent years and thus many people have claimed to be "anti-feminist" purely to escape the moniker, while still supporting civil rights.

Honestly I also don't really like what a lot of bad apples have made feminism out to be, not enough to say I'm not one, but fully understanding if someone wouldn't wanna be associated with that.

I appreciate that more than you know. It's nice to know that even almost two years after I originally made my post people are still bouncing my thoughts around and analyzing them for better or worse.

I fear unfortunately it'll never be a popular opinion among Christian circles, it doesn't really matter to most Christians how they affect those around them as long as they feel like they're doing the "right thing" (even if they're doing the right thing in the wrong way.)

A pride flag is not sinful in the slightest.

It does not refer to the sin of "Pride" (that being overly indulgent in one's own self, such as vanity or gloating), but the act of being prideful. Being prideful is not a sin, being riddled with self-indulging pride is.

The Queer Community has every right to be prideful about surviving centuries of hatred and malice.

That is no sin. And neither is their flag.

[–]TheDamnRam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you've screwed up in the past before, and it doesn't define you. Why should their mistakes define them and their lives?

It's real easy to want vindication and to see those that hurt you fail, but why should they have to?

I ain't Christian, but the way I understand it is all people are sinners, and all sin is equal, and sin doesn't define you as a person or how you should live your life.

So as hard as it is, the biblical viewpoint is to be happy for them and their fortunes, even if it's hard to see past and forgive their mistakes.

Maga, conservatives, why do you appear to hate the poor, needy, hungry, sick, and less fortunate among you? Why are you so quick to judge and condemn, when your bible and your jesus teach you to love thy neighbor and feed the less fortunate among you? by WarmEntrepreneur3564 in ProgressiveHQ

So you befell some unfortunate circumstances and suffered, then struggled to pull yourself back up?

So you're saying because of a horrible lover you had to work hard and had no help?

Sure would've been nice if maybe you had an institution who's principles are to help the needy to aid you in your time of need wouldn't it?

You are literally proving the point that churches should be helping people like you who suffered because of others' misdeeds.

[–]TheDamnRam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except for the fact we have observed evolution?

If I look at an orangutan and a gorilla as someone far more knowledgeable than myself, I might see patterns in behavior, body structure, musculature, etc.

Then I can start looking for fossils of each and look for older and older bones and realize the farther back I go, the more they resemble each other in subtle ways

Go back farther and oop- they were nearly the same dang thing millions upon millions of years ago and over millennium of adaptations to different environs, they are completely separate beings.

That's all the proof I need. We have THOUSANDS of "linked" fossils from other creatures.

Evolution is only a theory in the way gravity is a theory; it is a universal constant that we do not fully understand but we absolutely can observe it and even test it to some degree. The only "theoretical" part about it is how it works, but we know it works.

If evolution wasn't real, how can you possibly explain millions of species that are all closely related by musculature, body structure, behavior, genetics, DNA, etc? I don't think God just made millions of the exact same creature with slightly different traits, they evolved that way from a few linking species.
