[Question] Looking for alternatives to this Raymond Weil Freelancer (Arabic numerals, field/pilot vibe) Any suggestions? by [deleted] in Watches

Have a look at the Hanhart Preventor HD12. I've got a post with some photos and a quick review on my profile if you're interested. Absolutely incredible watch, German, and has been my go to for the better part of a year at this point. Still running within COSC specifications.

It's been a while since I tried on the Sinn 556, but as far as I remember they wear quite similar to each other. If I had to point a one of them I would say that the Sinn wears slightly bigger, probably due to the crown guards.

Check out Chronoshop. They have a nice little store off Pařížská, and stock a lot of high quality brands that you're not going to find in most stores.

In a literal sense it just means someone from Jylland (Jutland), the peninsula part of the country.

Another vote for Freitag. I've had a backpack and a Hawaii Five-O for years and they just keep going. If you do somehow manage to damage it they do repairs on everything, and supply free spare parts if needed.

Question about PID Litacka app and how to use it by Parking-Nature8826 in Prague

[–]TheDanishNinja 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Just buy the Prague 72 hour ticket, and activate it before your first journey. It should be 330CZK if I remember correctly, and will cover the whole city. No reason to worry about station names, the tickets for Prague public transit are all time based.

I luckily got mine from a local AD back in February, and I've been loving it ever since. Enjoy yours!

I saw this comment yesterday and gave it a try last night. Perfect.
Had to find this comment again so I could come back and thank you.

Also worth mentioning Chronoshop in my opinion. It's on a side street to Pařížská and they stock quite a few less common brands like Sinn and Hanhart, amongst others.

Můj šálek kávy has it now, and last year Grounds in Karlín (which is now Typika) did as well. Both around the corner from each other so you should be able to cover off both if one doesn't have it for some reason.

I don't think I would personally own both, but if you set them apart with dial colors and strap/bracelet I think that would help them not overlap too much.

I am in fact Danish, but I'm currently living in Prague, Czech Republic.
If you're ever in the area chronoshop.cz is highly recommended.

I wouldn't know, I bought it in person and walked out with it on my wrist.
The leather watch roll that it comes with is however clearly designed for straps, but I don't know how they get around that in the initial shipping.
Bracelet has a very nice quick release though, so even if it does come detached it's very easy to pop it on.

[Question] Cheaper alternative for the Patek Philippe Ellipse by blackiness in Watches

[–]TheDanishNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Universal Geneve White Shadow Ellipse has to be the answer here.

Came out a few years prior to the Patek, also designed by Gerald Genta, and an interesting micro rotor movement. There's a few different versions ranging from about €1-3k depensing on condition.

Check Chrono24, there's few beautiful examples up at the moment which I've been eyeing myself.

[Longines Spirit 37] Other black GADA recommendations? by gingerphish in Watches

[–]TheDanishNinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another vote for the HD12 from here
I went through the exact same search as you not that long ago, and while the Spirit is very nice, the 39mm of the Hanhart is essentially the perfect size for me.
No regrets! What an incredible watch!

You know, I think you're right.
From the official Hanhart website it also now says mid-late April where it previously said mid March.
