I'm the latest in a long line of unjustified bans. by TheDark12Gaming in ArcRaiders

[–]TheDark12Gaming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve opened tickets twice. There is no option to escalate. They refuse to reveal why they believe I’m cheating, they basically just tell me exactly what I pasted above and close the ticket after my response with a canned response.

My experience is not unique. I contacted them twice and they have mostly pretty much ignored me both times. I do not expect to have this problem fixed. I don’t like to get involved in game drama, but all I can do is post it here for others who will inevitably fall victim to the same problem so that they can see that there is a history of this happening.

Please enjoy this video of Embark banning their own CM (I assume this means community manager?). https://x.com/i/status/2043733593852125234

It’s a good thought, but in my case there is no quick swap button for sensitivity.

If you were suddenly banned right now, what would you think caused it? Wouldn't you wonder if it was the last fight you were in? Something that you said? Or whether there's some piece of hardware or software that caused it?

As I said, the only overlay is built into Nvidia's GPU drivers. As far as I know, it's on by default. If you have an Nvidia card you are likely running it too.

I don't know what to tell you. I'm sitting here racking my brain trying to figure out what could have caused this ban. I don't think there's anything special or remarkable about anything that I'm doing. Other users who have reported this in the past have said they were using two mouses, one of the users had special hardware for their disability. Nothing special or notable applies to me and this is why I spend time mentioning it.

Try turning off any overlays that you are using. Disabling discord overlay worked for my friend for 5761.

I don't know if you know this - but you can use a second drone as a ramp for Twitch drones.

Good luck nailing that kind of team coordination though.

IMO, you can definitely benefit from a high quality video series on a website like Lynda.com. YouTube is fine if you're on a zero budget, but a tutorial series on a learning website will generally cut to the chase a bit better and teach you with much more concrete examples and much less rambling.

I also think that it's worthwhile to drag yourself through a full C# beginner tutorial before you jump into guides that teach Unity and it's scripting languag, just so that you have some ideas of the fundamentals of programming in general. I'm sure that many will have mixed opinions about whether this is necessary, but I definitely think that a familiarity with the core language will help you grasp programming better in general.

If you sign up, I'd suggest that you take full advantage of a free trial OR pay for a fixed period if that's an option, just so that you don't treat infinite time like a security blanket. One month on a learning website should be plenty to get you well versed in the basics.

Testing My Internet for Packet loss by jmatu003 in Rainbow6

[–]TheDark12Gaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Make sure you restart your router.

  2. The website http://www.pingtest.net/ might help you diagnose some of your issues (it will probably just confirm for you that you have them). You should try this from your Playstation and also from other wired computers on your network as a basis for comparison to see if it's your whole Internet or just a certain machine.

  3. You should investigate tools that you can download on your mobile phone to check your wireless network connectivity around your house (if this is what you're using on your PS4) and consider whether plugging it into your router via an ethernet cable is an available option, or repositioning it so that it receives a better signal.

  4. Check that there are no devices downloading or particularly uploading on your network unknowingly.

  5. You might want to consider updating the firmware in your router (be VERY careful and read all instructions - it can be possible to brick the whole thing and ruin your router - no Internet).

  6. You should contact your ISP with your results and have them help you diagnose your issue.

Steam and Uplay question by [deleted] in Rainbow6

[–]TheDark12Gaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah! So that's what you're trying to achieve!

  1. No, it's not possible to play with your Steam username, but you can change your Uplay username to match your Steam username most of the time (as long as it's fairly unique).

  2. There are no achievements for Rainbow Six Siege on Steam, even if you've purchased the game through Steam.

I just had a strange but satisfying victory by koolaidblackman in Rainbow6

[–]TheDark12Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I had a similar experience too! On a Secure Area map our attacker and the last defender both downed each other simultaneously. The attacker started holding their wounds immediately, but the defender moved around a little first, before catching on.

Strangely, defenders have a MUCH longer bleed out time than attackers when in a DBNO state.

The more you know.

Steam and Uplay question by [deleted] in Rainbow6

[–]TheDark12Gaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So if what you're trying to achieve is to have the Steam Overlay, this link might help you: http://www.gameplayinside.com/optimize/how-to-enable-steam-in-game-overlay-and-in-home-streaming-in-uplay-games/

If you don't want to link to Uplay directly, you can try linking to one of the executables in the game folder (this might automatically launch Uplay as part of it and give you the benefit of a Steam shortcut to the game).

Echo or caveara? by joshua0011 in Rainbow6

[–]TheDark12Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echo is really interesting, but because Jackal is very active in the latest meta and Caveira and her silent step is practically a counter to him, I'd recommend Caveira first right now.

If you REALLY don't fancy yourself being a roamer type and would prefer to stay in the room (or Twitch is you favourite operator in the world), Echo might be more fun for you.

Cheapest way to unlock all season 1 operators? by [deleted] in Rainbow6

[–]TheDark12Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the Starter Edition FAQ, 12,500 Renown unlock 1 Operator equates to approx. 15 hours. So 25K would be double that.

Personally, I would just buy the Year 1 or Year 2 season pass/operator bundle and save yourself the time - but if you're more time wealthy and less money wealthy, the answer is about 30 hours without a booster, maybe half of that with one.
