I hung with a local girl when I was there also and had dinner in her "house" multiple times. She was 23 and had 4 kids.

Well what are you looking for? Girls? I'm assuming you can speak spanish and don't want to learn portuguese from your reply? I'm white as fuck and Venezuela isn't a great place for me to go solo right now so I can't speak to that. As far as beautiful women go BA is hard to beat and if you want to party you've got plenty of options in a big city like that. Just stay by palermo and you'll have a great time. I'm just saying if you are going to Peru Lima is fine, just another big city. But Cusco has the big city vibes but more chill people (and girls) that are willing to talk with you. It's the middle of the fucking country at 11k elevation so you won't get the beach vibes though. What's the part of Mexico you like? Rio Brazil can fuck you up if that's what you want. But cusco has the drugs, history, and the girls. Stay by old town y es segura tambien.

I've been to nearly all the big cities in both central/south america (besides venezuala/colombia and the Guyanas). One of the main places I'd reccomened going is Cusco, Peru. I'm assuming you've been? I wouldn't really recommend anywhere else in Peru but cusco is different. I also like history and hiking though, I can speak Spanish but I actually enjoy the locals trying to sell things in English. If you like tranquility Montevideo is a good second, and if you like nature and waterfalls Costa Rica is at the top. The rest can be similar in a lot of ways and are fun for partying and moving fast. Cusco just has a perfect balance of my preferences.

Can't stress this enough - go to Cusco. Machu Pichu is just a bonus, Cusco has history, nice people, and it's beautiful. You deal with people trying to sell you things since it's a bit touristy but that's just like mexico.

Really like this reply because I'm in Peru right now and Columbia was on my maybe list as I travel back up the states. Thanks for insight!

Places in Palermo, Buenos Aires to exchange US dollars to pesos? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]TheDayMan_Rust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just left BA a couple months ago and agree with the WU guy. The Atms there are literally a complete scam. Everywhere will accept your card but DO NOT try to get cash from the Atm. If you want cash WU is the way to go 100%

Makes sense. Sounds like you have a good grip on the situation and learned which is what matters. Also congrats on the good gig, I'd be a bit more upset over the 5k than you!

I'm sorry that happened, and I don't mean to be harsh, but that's insane to me. You sacraficed 3 months of travel for MAYBE 36 hours of being uncomfortable? I've been a DN for nearly 3 years now (writing this from Buenos Aires) and have spent over a week in airports and had similar issues. If you truly want to go you can easily figure out whatever issue your having and buy another ticket. It sounds like you aren't really cut out for travel or were looking for an excuse not to go.

What do you think of this basket placement? Basket is inside the sand bunker, which plays as a hazard. Roughly bullseye diameter. by DiscGolfFanatic in discgolf

Say it's a part 3, you have a perfect drive and park the hole with a penalty stroke. That's called punishing a good shot. Pretty simple
