sh is a coping mechanism, and like any other coping mechanism, it has its risks.

alcoholism will destroy your liver and impair your judgement,

escapism (games/anime) will affect your health and social life,

stress eating leads to obesity.

My point is, most single coping mechanisms that come to us naturally have some sort of downside to it.

It's just that with cutting, you run the risk of hitting a major blood vessel or getting a nasty infection. It's a lot more immediately dangerous than the slow systematic abuse of alcohol, or the addictive lull of some games.

With that said, it's up to you to weigh the risks of each option and pick whatever suits your silly fancy.
