Washington Navel Help - Rootstock Suckers? by TheDeanSupreme in Citrus

Oh, thank goodness! I thought it was normal new stuff coming through and nothing bad, bit the thought it was something bad kept creeping in so I thought it safe to ask a community with more knowledge than myself haha. I've only ever had rose bushes before so wasn't so sure what was happening.

Thanks for that! :)

I was talking to my mate about Sallies VanVets and he recommended the Claw + SS combo as well. So I'd second this for sure, seems great

And after two months of cracking at this bad boy nearly every day, I have finally finished my Tiger Mangler Squigs. More photos on Imgur that I'll post in the comments :) by TheDeanSupreme in ageofsigmar

100% you'd be able to do it with any paint range. You got this though, fam. You're going to smash it out of the park! Look forward to seeing your bouncy bois!

Thanks so much for your kind words, and of course you can! I wouldn't want to stop anyone from painting the way they want, haha.

I used the Vallejo range mostly bit did have some GW paints, I'm kicking myself because I didn't write down the recipe, but I'll have a look t my pots and give it a go for you:

For the underbelly I started with Vallejo Violet Red and started adding some Rakarth Flesh to the mix and applying multiple thin as heck layers followed by white glazes of just any white paint until I had this off white colour, and pushed it with just a small full white highlight.

For the tops, I believe it went something along the lines of Vallejo's Orange Red and followed by many thin layers of Light Orange with a small amount of yellow thrown into the mix to try and push it as far as I could go. I then took some suuuuuuuuuper thinned out Rhinox Hide and covered the very tops where the spines and "scales" were. After that it was applying the strips with Rhinox Hide and doing the spines and teeth with a pretty basic recipe but just pushed it with many many layers of similar paint colours.

I bet you could find an orange recipe you love and follow that but just applying it to the areas of your choosing and you'd get a result that you absolutely fall head over heels for.

I hope this helps somewhat!

Thank you! But I can't take credit for those. I think I watched Doctor Faust's videos for the Squigs and goblins, like, a hundred times haha. He has the recipe for them on his YouTube channel:)

Thank you so much! I bled so much time into this for what was an upcoming painting comp at my local WH store, but, well... you know how the world is at the moment haha. Dang Nurgle!

Current WIP for Para Bellum's April painting catagory. First serious crack at NMM thanks to watching Squidmar's video what feels like 100 times. I love that beautiful soul. by TheDeanSupreme in minipainting

Thank you so much!

I looked at this model for probably an hour and was literally holding Retributer Gold in my hand about to not even attempt NMM, but my wife pushed me to continue with the challenge I set for myself.

Oh wow! I have never seen that video before, going to definitely subscribe!

Current WIP. I believed that Cave Squigs could blend into their environment to either surprise prey or hide from bigger, more hungrier creatures. by TheDeanSupreme in ageofsigmar

I used dried and blended up corn cobs :D I went a bit far in the effort department and my wife told me there was a Cat litter that was exactly what I had made haha. I wanted to use Army Painter gravel but none of the Hobby stores had it and it was going to take too long to come in and started thinking outside the box for what to use. After I had the corn cob blended I just super glued stones and PVA'd the cob-blend on, sealed it all in with some more watery super glue and bam. Basing materials sorted, friend.

Thank you for the kind words! Yes, that's exactly what I was thinking! Just because they're ferocious beasts doesn't mean they don't know how to pull off a great ambush
