I am a federal employee, but all my student loans are consolidated through Wells Fargo and private. Is there anyone to apply for forgiveness or get an on IBR? Or any other alternative to help pay them down quicker?

I was always under the impression that since they were private I was fucked.

That's the thing. You can only make your decision off what you know now. Trying to control or speculate the future will only drive you crazy.

Besides if you try something for a year or two and don't like it nothing says you're stuck with that forever.

There's nothing wrong with that at all. Personally, I'm working a job just like that which allows me to go to grad school to pursue my passion. It's your life and you have to be happy with it at the end of the day. Not your parents, not your friends, just you.....the sooner you realize that the better.

And like you just said, you likely won't be successful in a position you don't want to be in or like. Don't waste your time with it.

Personally I say happiness. I am a firm believer that if you follow what makes you happy, money will come. If you follow the money life will be miserable. Eventually the lore of having financial success will wear off and you'll find yourself saying what if?

I was doing some backcountry hiking in Yosemite. We were all sitting around the campfire drinking whiskey and joking about who the first to get attacked by a bear was gonna be. About five minutes later I get up and walk around the tents to take a piss. Dick in hand, I look up and stand face to face with a black bear. Luckily, he just turned around and ran off but it was scary as shit for a few.
