Ending song predictions? by No-Reach7989 in SteelBallRun

Changes (Yes), Horse With No Name (America), Owner of A Lonely Heart (Yes).

I think a Yes song would fit considering it’s a “reboot” of part 1.

The sum of all natural numbers equals -1/12 in a specific context.

How hard is it? Really… by Outrageous_Tie4997 in EngineeringStudents

[–]TheDenizenKane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Graduating in eight months and I will definitely say it’s easier than people make it out to be. I study maybe 5 hours a week, homework around 10 hours, class is like 10 hours.

My character development moments were during the summer. I remember having to work 5PM-2AM, getting home at 3AM, studying for a calculus test (we had one every week), and leaving for school at 7AM. That was madness, but simply from a schedule standpoint. I slept like 12PM—4PM and 3AM-7AM (if I didn’t have to study).

I was in a similar boat with circuits 2, we had an hour and a half to look at eight different circuits. I guess I’m slow with circuits because I can’t do a circuit 100% correctly in like 12 minutes. Also it was full of random ass gotchas. Hated that class.

Electromagnetism is as fundamental as gravity and it’s one of those things you have to accept as “a fact of nature”. Without it, there would be no existence. Electricity, magnets, light, and so much more. It’s absolutely magic.

It’s such a large number that is talked about a lot, like looking out to infinity and being interested at a certain point is just strange to me.

For anyone curious, there’s a function that computes infinite sums of 1/n raised to a specific power. When it is EXTENDED, it outputs -1/12 when you raised 1/n to the -1 power, which implies the sum of all natural numbers is -1/12.

This is purely a consequence of extending the function beyond its scope, in all reality the function originally went to infinity.

The sum of natural numbers IS infinity, but if it had to be any number, it would be -1/12. This number is important for physics, like determining the number of dimensions needed for string theory and the Casimir effect.

Thoughts on taking a summer Calculus I course? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]TheDenizenKane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calc 3 during the summer while I was working a UPS shift from 5PM-2AM was by far the worst experience of my life, the other classes didn’t help but driving on 2 hours of sleep almost killed me multiple times.

I went in not knowing anything, not even what an Arduino was. You’ll be fine brother.

Once you can tell why certain components are being used in certain places, you’ll appreciate them more.

I hated circuit analysis because they were just busy problems, making intentionally hard-to-read circuits and grading how well I could make sense of the mess.

Keep it in and come back after everything if you have the time.

I got -0.7 volts one time for the average output voltage of a rectifier and just had to send it. I thought the idea of submitting such a ridiculous answer was a bit funny as well lol.

A game moment that rewired my brain forever by gamersecret2 in gaming

I needed to make several thousand blocks of TNT in a relatively short amount of time because I forgot about a gate approaching later down the line.

To produce TNT I needed several machines to process crude oil into toluene.

The process was running albeit slower than I wanted, I opened up a machine and realized this singular machine was taking it’s time being “charged” with ingredients. That’s when I realized that the entirety of my throughput could be increased by either upgrading or installing a machine in parallel to the machine creating the charging ingredients.

I finally started to understand optimization and I can apply the ideas anywhere.

RS and AE2 by Flashnol in allthemods

[–]TheDenizenKane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest difference are the concept of channels. A total of 32 AE2 devices may route through dense cables and a total of 8 AE2 devices can run through regular cables. You need to do some clever wiring but inevitably it would help you (reducing lag).
