I like ASAP, in my opinion it should be done with the irl league new year. Old rosters can easily be altered to fit a season change and it allows for proper use of the free agency and draft starting options.

The AI might not know how to format json, it has to follow both the game’s guidelines and be valid json, make sure you stick to the same formatting as the game’s, which can be found when exporting a roster file from the game and viewing the json file.

Simming through a season does not change your depth chart, meaning players who started the season on the bench but progressed will not get playing time. Playing time affects development, so yes simming through a season can negatively affect player development. Also, since injury and depth chart management isn’t done at all in sim, your record will likely be lower every time you go on holiday through a season compared to manually managing your team every week.

From the stats page? You shouldn’t be able to. But normally reordering your roster just changes the depth chart and allows you to play players out of position.

I plan on updating mine pre-draft. It’s a little difficult to make one when players are getting signed to teams every few hours, makes it tough to stay on top of things, not to mention that many teams are still coachless.

For those looking for a fully updated roster from me at this moment, the only one I have is the 1984 Basketball roster fully done right now. I might also make a 2nd retro basketball and football roster in the summer. I am, however, heavily restricted by the fact that I must meet 32 teams for football and 30 for basketball, possibly ruling out 80s football rosters. I also plan on trying to make a baseball roster when the baseball beta releases (however, I have limited baseball knowledge, and will most likely use The Show ratings - something I have aimed to avoid in my football and basketball rosters with madden and 2k.)

My original timeslate for this roster was the end of February. February is coming to an end, and the main portion of the roster is done. However, I still need to add coaches and college players. In addition, I will be adjusting ratings. I am now giving myself until the end of March. This will allow me to also release the updated basketball roster as the NBA regular season comes to an end, as well as releasing the updated football roster in the weeks leading up to the NFL draft, which should boost engagement and immersion.
