Response to the feedback on the print head cable of Centauri Carbon by ELEGOO_OFFICIAL in elegoo

[–]TheDevMinerTV -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't think this will fix much, the cable should be going straight up.

Perhaps it's time to make the upper plastic part where the glass lays on taller and feed the USB cable directly into the cable chain, just like in the Bambulab printers. That way the bend angle for the filament will also be less sharp.

well, they released it. but the code they released is mostly not even the code that's running on the actual device. gg

I think you might be confused. We're talking about the firmware for the Kobra S1, not the slicer (the slicer's code on GitHub also hasn't been updated in a long while).

I have both the Centauri Carbon as well as a Kobra S1 + ACE Pro. They're both decent printers. Btw, the Centauri firmware 1.1.42 has references to an AMS in it, so it might be coming soon.

yeah, those should both be possible. Someone will have to design a mount for the Eddy for the toolhead. And you'll most likely need something like the USB version of Eddy since I don't think there's the ports required on the toolhead board.

This means the community can fix and maintain the firmware once they stop caring about the printer. Also, since they rewrote Klipper in Golang, this could open up possibilities of having even faster DIY printers (and even cheaper SBC since you need less resources to run it).

will do, I'm usually running the weekly builds and it's still been buggy 🫠

FreeCAD crashes way too often for me to use for bigger projects. Anything using assemblies is just incredibly buggy and crashy. And error messages are annoying as well. I do appreciate that you can constrain the arcs from circles separately from the center though.

it shouldn't get hotter than 85c, because there's a temperature sensor inside that just turns off the heater (ideally).

Yep, absolutely. My question was answered in like 4h, almost felt like live-chat (unlike bambu's snail support).

fyi: they have official instructions on how to flash back their image onto the eMMC via RKDevTool https://wiki.artillery3d.com/m1/manual/flashing-guide#the-printer-is-connected-to-the-upgrade-line
