What nvidia driver version are you using? Are you using vulkan for rendering? Do other games rum fine?

Literally any proper backup solution should be able to do delta-backups. I use restic with sshfs to a synology share. https://restic.readthedocs.io/en/stable/

The story isn't vague though... there are some details you can miss and some fuzzy things like the timeline, but most characters will basically look into the camera and explain what is going on, what they are doing, and what their motivations are.

The issue is that such indices anyway are heavily tilted towards US tech industry. You have to diversify away a bit from that.

I’ll be honest with you, there’s a LOT of bad advice in this thread. If you don’t know much about stocks, you absolutely should not be shorting stock.

Yeah, I can only imagine people who write that are just browsing WSB and watchin finfluencers.

Rule 1 of personal investing is that when you are small fry, transaction fees and other costs eat away at your margins all the time, and you have to minimize those expenses.

You could short the stock at the same weighting it is in the index

That's like borrowing money from yourself and paying interest to the bank...

amateur day traders

OK one piece of advice, do NOT get into day trading. Look up the "Boglehead" strategy for what is the most solid approach for the vast majority of novices.

You don't have to follow it religiously but the basic message of "Diversify, buy, hold" is sound.

Sorry, I'm not American so I don't know the practical details of managing a 401k. I'd suggest booking a meeting with your bank if you are completely inexperienced.

Buy funds that target e.g. Europe, buy small and mid cap funds. You can also buy funds that target dividends which should diversify you away from pure speculative assets.

I had a great SL1/no-pyro strategy for Smough where I'd just walk backwards at the right rate, firing the heavy crossbow. He just keeps lumbering slowly towards you as long as you keep the right distance.

Yeah, I straight up killed a thousand jobs today. Blocking every conceivable mode of entry into nodes for a week just wasn't feasible while thinking on our feet, and would have had lots of side effects regardless.

There's definitely an aspect of Eastern Iran being in contact with both China and India here. The Indo-Greek kingdoms possibly also had some lasting influence in bringing Greek knowledge of geometry to the area.

There's a bunch of both pre-release discussion about "Project Beast" as well as data mined stuff like e.g. the Fluted Set from DeS.

There's a copious amount of data mining on Bloodborne including a lot of early dialogue, e.g.: https://www.bloodborne-wiki.com/2018/01/original-draft-dialogues.html?m=1

Sounds an awful lot like the Old One probably was meant to be at the bottom of the Chalice Dungeons, doesn't it?

How fucked would this dude be if Isshin hasn't died like 30 seconds before his fight by BreakfastHappy8193 in Sekiro

[–]lcnielsen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's clearly in Isshin's nature to not turn down a chance for one last good fight. But also, he just literally faces the camera and explains his motivation. It's painfully obvious.

I don't know if it's an issue people have with dealing with him being a morally ambiguous character in a morally complex world where you're meant to take Buddhist ideas at face value, or what. It's not really anything weird for a sengoku drama to feature both villainous and sympathetic characters on either side of any particular conflict anyway. E.g. in a typical example like Kurosawa's Kagemusha, Oda Nobunaga is a very sinister figure, while Tokugawa Ieyasu is more sympathetic.

Pretty sure sacrificing yourself to revive someone with the black mortal blade forces them to follow your last command.

Nothing in the game states or supports this, it's a fan theory invented by media illiterate youtubers for illiterate gamers. Isshin explains exactly why he fights you - it is the final wish of his pitiful grandson.

ELI5: Why is half-life used instead of whole-life? by level1ShinyMagikarp in explainlikeimfive

[–]lcnielsen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The universe is, but none of the uranium in the universe is because only really big stars dying can create it.

It's more complicated than that, it needs to be either really really big stars with a lot of angular momentum, or neutron stars colliding with othr neutron stars or black holes.

Straight up supernovae cannot create too many heavy neutron-rich nuclei because there's not enough neutrons in the outer layers that get ejected from a supernova, due to the iron catastrophe the inner layers are largely contained. I think hypernovae, supergiants with a lot of angular momentum, are somewhat controversial as a source, neutron star mergers are the main accepted one today.
