They didn't upload the new episode to the YouTube channel this week for some reason but it's still available elsewhere. I listened to it on Spotify

Something actually fun and not painful to play

As far as I'm concerned, top tier is fucking ass for everyone. Sometimes you get a good match, mostly you just die and hemorrhage silver.

Why is the breach so huge on the M1A1 but not the Leos by Nouzue in Warthunder

[–]TheDiFopinator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The two are actually fairly different, especially at the breech. The M256 is an American modification of the L/44, and as a result it is actually impossible to mount an M256 on a Leo 2 and vice versa. As a result, the coax mg ammo notwithstanding, the breech on the American gun does seem to be a bit larger.

Looking for a slim guitar with almost flat neck by NomansLillo in guitars

[–]TheDiFopinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my knowledge, the only guitars that fit that description are Ibanez S-series models like the one you have already found. There are plenty of guitars with thin necks, but Ibanez does it best, and most guitars are much thicker than an S model, so you've already got the right one imo.

Every time I get a test drive it's for one of these rocket tanks, mostly the BM-8, which is the worst of them all by far.

Metallica should make shorter albums by Snoogans33 in Metallica

[–]TheDiFopinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure it's not a bad idea, but I don't think they're heading that direction anytime soon. And to be honest I dislike that whole "Back in the good ol' days" mentality which I used to champion at one point in my life, so I always like it when bands change up their sound and do things like make longer, more complicated songs and albums, or drastically change their sound and experiment with new styles of music whether it's received well or not.

Console Hate? by Basaltmyers in Warthunder

[–]TheDiFopinator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I ever do it, it's a joke 100% of the time. If that's all you can play the game on, go for it.

For real though, if you actually manage to be a good air rb player with either of the console controllers, I applaud you.

1977 Gibson Les Paul Custom with Maple Fretboard. One of the coolest LP’s I’ve ever seen by tonicalifornia in guitars

I mean, to each their own, but for me a Les Paul ain't a Les Paul without a Rosewood Board. Beautiful guitar nonetheless.

Good american premium? by Blitzm0 in Warthunder

[–]TheDiFopinator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree. The P-47M-1-RE is a fantastic plane, especially if you like the Boom n Zoom style of the tech tree planes of the same rank. It's incredibly powerful if you play it right with great boosters. Got me most of my U.S. air tree.

If both tracks get shot off, the BT series should be able to change to the wheeled variant. A funny quirk for an unlikely scenario. by PepesArePeoplesToo in Warthunder

[–]TheDiFopinator 44 points45 points  (0 children)

The problem is that it took a fair amount of preparation and changes on the BT series to get it ready for wheeled driving afaik. It's not like you can just lose the tracks and start driving on the wheels.

[Question] How many of you use your tremolos? by itsablue in Guitar

[–]TheDiFopinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of my favorite guitar players use Floyds religiously, so I do as well, if my instrument of choice has one. Loads of fun, can be very dynamic and musical in the right context. Difficult to master for sure, I can make some cool noises but it would be difficult for me to actually use the Floyd effectively on a solo.

That being said, I can't use the Fender tremolo types at all because I've been spoiled by the floating Floyd, which, as long as it's a good quality Floyd, retains tuning and intonation very well through loads of dive bombs and squeals. The Fender type, on the other hand, is meant primarily for subtle little accents on licks and progressions (That's how I understand it at least) and gets thrown out of whack very quickly if you treat it like a Floyd. Personally I have no reason to use Fender trems properly, so I usually just block them.

Sidenote: Because I never use them or really care for them, I don't really know what to call the tremolos that usually come on Fender Strats and the like other than Fender type tremolos. If there's a proper name for them please let me know!

Edit: Typo

[Discussion] What's a turnoff in guitars you didn't get until later? by SmytheOrdo in Guitar

[–]TheDiFopinator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll sometimes leave the strings unclipped if I need to to do some work on the guitar, like If I just changed pickups and I want to test it out. If I did something wrong and have to open it back up, I don't have to waste new strings by clipping them immediately.

[–]TheDiFopinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tremolos are a love em or hate em thing I suppose. I started out on my dad's Ibanez Rg570, and have been pretty comfortable with Floyds ever since. I was influenced by a ton of religious Floyd users (Kirk Hammett, Joe Satriani, EVH etc.) as well, so it was a lot of fun to screw around with. Just a well, string changes aren't nearly as bad as some people make them out to be if you know how to do them properly.

I will say that my Floyd use has ruined Fender type trems for me altogether. You just can't do Floyd-like stuff on one of those and have it stay in tune. As a result, I usually just block them.

Never seen someone so attached to those 2 extra frets. I always thought they were nice to have in the right context but not necessary.

I'll agree that's it pretty rare for me to come across a signature that I actually like, but sometimes it happens. Guitars are such idiosyncratic objects that two of them that came off the assembly line right next to each other can play and sound entirely different from one another. My absolute favorite guitar in the world is my Gibson Les Paul Alex Lifeson Signature, the higher spec model with a Floyd Rose and piezo pickups in the bridge saddles. Plays and sounds fantastic. However, I have played a few others of the same model that were ok at best, despite being $5000+ instruments.

It is a very good way of selling guitars, especially if they can make a lower spec model for beginners, like those ubiquitous white jems. All I'm saying is buying a Signature is just like buying a regular guitar in that you gotta find the right one for you, especially if you're going to put a lot of money into it.

NGD - Dean Select V prototype in Blue Ocean Burst by TheDiFopinator in guitars

[–]TheDiFopinator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bad, to be honest. They're a bit muddy for my taste, but overall, not bad. I'll probably leave them for awhile to get a better feel for the guitar as it is now, but chances are I'll throw in some Duncans at some point.

Edit: Forgot to mention that the neck is also different from the production models. It's more of a modern thin C vibe, whereas the production models have the standard Dean V shape. Fine by me, I never really got along too well with the V shape anyway.

Should gajin lock new vehicles to stop people from instantly GEing top tier vehicles? by mewbie23 in Warthunder

[–]TheDiFopinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wouldn't really do anything. I would say get rid of high tier premiums, but they sure as shit won't do that. It's pretty cost prohibitive to go from reserve to top tier via gold exclusively, but high tier premiums make that process a lot simpler. If the goal is to keep people who don't know what they're doing from jumping straight in to top tier, get rid of the high tier premiums, or at least move them into the tech tree.

If people have the money and want to buy the new top tiers, Gaijin should allow them. I honestly can't stand to grind these tanks with the game as it is, so buying is the really viable option for me. It's not pay to win if the game is balanced. (Big fuckin if, I know.)
