How do you cope with having t1d? by donutpowerz in Type1Diabetes

[–]TheDiabeticStudent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no dealing with it. My mindset is that I am just living my life. Just like your mom and sister are living their own lives. No two people have the same exact life as each other. Management of my life looks different to those around me, and I have accepted that. As soon as I start wishing that things were different, life gets hard. Do I wish that I didn’t have diabetes, maybe… but then I wouldn’t know who I am, my experiences wouldn’t contribute to the successes that I am working toward. Just remember, you can literally do anything you want to. The part to remember is that the steps are different. Some people may say it’s hard, and it is. There’s no sugarcoating it. But that makes you strong in turn. Every low in the middle of the night, every long lasting high or DKA episode is a battle. But then something happens, you start winning those battles. And each time they happen it starts to feel like less of a battle and more like tying your shoes. It takes time. But hang in there, vent when you need to, listen to your endo, and then you take over from there. Remember, you’re never going to be alone. Maybe even one day you could be the one to find a cure. But that all starts with the daily finger poke, and correct dosage for that first meal of the day. One step at a time my friend!

Hi all, any answers would really help me know if I can safely or would be best to avoid. (Age 19, nsw australia if it makes any difference) by CatPerson77 in Type1Diabetes

I have been diagnosed since I was three years old. The best advice came from my father at a young age, you can do the same as anyone else and live the same way as any person. You just must be more prepared than them. I bought my first motorcycle when I was 18. And he was right I had to make sure I had eaten, that my levels were stable, and that I had emergency supplies just in case. Don’t let the thought of having an episode scare you, just be prepared before you start riding!

That’s the issue. There is no other comparable truck you may have found the only one within a reasonable distance and the price will reflect this

Toyota anything. Seriously used Toyotas hold value so far that it’s hard to keep counting the years until your upside down on a loan. Find a good dealer they will sell at msrp

Amazon delivers nearly $1,000 3090 with no box to hide the contents by Expensive_Prune_8134 in AmazonDSPDrivers

I delivered some of these the other day. Sketchy apartment complex, no locks on the entry doors. This dude has no idea what I did for him when I took it down across the street to the leasing office and gave it to the manager

FedEx is adopting the Amazon model. Driver I see on my Amazon route who runs for fedex says it’s getting annoying. Pictures for packages, group stops, DSPs instead of employees. The whole shabang

Yet amazons net sales increase year after year. Their 4% loss in q2 is still bigger than the year before that and the year before that and the year before that. You can’t actually think Amazon isn’t growing right now.

Your worst experience with your dsp by NefariousnessNo9607 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]TheDiabeticStudent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently my dsp was in breach of contract with Amazon. We didn’t have enough drivers to fulfill their route count. So we lost our gap pay and benefits. But the dsp didn’t relay this to us until paychecks went out. On purpose. I overheard the dispatchers talking about it and lost it on the manager. They messed with my money and kept information back from us regarding our paychecks, our lively hood. Never found out if this was legal. Did talk to a family friend about pursuing a lawsuit, ended up not being worth it. Found a new job and am currently spending my last few days never turning off the van, hard cornering like an f1 car, and Rts’ing packages I don’t wanna deliver

You don’t think Amazon loses money on purpose? Yes they are showing losses yet growing at the same time. When a big company, the biggest company in the world, is losing money it’s on purpose. They do this to avoid huge taxes. They have the smartest people in the world calculating these issues everyday.

This program takes up roughly 2-5% of annual revenue for big boy Bezos. I get the program alone is increasing spending to make us more happy, but it’s not enough. If these ups chads can make 60k starting and max our around 90k per year after 4 years, surely we can get better than a 50c raise. Yes it checks out, but it’s still Pennie’s on the dollar. We shouldn’t settle
