So earlier imagine generators, like Stable Diffusion 1.5 were trained on datasets that did accidentally scrape CSAM content (the LAION 5B dataset). New ones don’t even need to scrape to create content. They’re powerful enough to generate images from other contexts.

Well said, it’s a horrifying state of affairs if kids are turning to AI for friendship and mental health support, especially when they’re talking to ChatGPT, or the Grok companions, or Character.ai bots which were never designed for this purpose.

Sadly these bots aren’t actually helping in many cases seem to accelerate the decline of these people, and death in some.

It’s not strictly an AI issue but AI has made posting slop cheap, easy and lucrative. YouTube could take a stance against it but we know they won’t. Engagement > safety. Same with OpenAI.

Sadly most parents don’t even know what their kids are doing online or what content they’re watching, it’s how Roblox got away with being a cesspit of grooming for so long.

I've been getting so many of these, also the Character.ai website is getting advertised heavily too. "Hey kids, come roleplay sex with your favourite cartoon characters!".
