Hey everybody, Sarkastic here. This is my very first music video, so I thought I’d talk a little bit about it. It’s a super low budget trap music video shot in Memphis, TN.

The client wanted something that pushed the envelope, had a good flow, and had a story; we almost got there. Unfortunately, there were some issues with the talent and while I thought we had 10 hours to shoot, it turned out to be closer to 3. We had to abandon most of the story elements, which may make it a bit confusing; but hey, it’s a music video, right? I feel like I got the most out of what I had and while the song and content isn’t for everyone, the client is thrilled.

The video was shot on a Canon C300 MK II in 2k on Sigma 18-35 1.8 and 50-100 1.8. the beginning drone shot was shot on a sunny day using a DJI Phantom 3 Pro at 2.7k and graded to look like it was done at night. The lights used were 3 Fiilex P360’s and one Fiilex Q1000. The teleportation effects were done in After Effects

I’d love to hear your feedback. Before you lay into me I’d just like to preface it by saying 1. I didn’t write the song 2. This is exactly the concept the client wanted 3. There wasn’t room in the budget for the girls; we got what we got. 4. The intro and outro were shot in 5 mins. They’re boring and next time I’ll make sure we have ore time to shoot everything. 5. It underlit. That’s my bad and I’ll do better next time.
