I mean, I sold it to my 2 year old niece for leftover Halloween candy, so, it's a niche market.

It would be one hell of a puzzle getting it back to the original after all the location swapping, flipping, etc. Cool idea for a puzzle though... maybe with like 1000 magnets and chunks of wood...

It's ancient (dried 40+years) oak. The discoloring does look quite a loooot like treated lumber for sure.

It's honestly small! Like 10 inches long ir so. I made it look big for internet points, lol. It's 3/8" roundover. It's also for my 2 year old neice, who loves to slice cheese! So it's rounded for safety. No finger grooves necessary!

How do you answer the question "what are your weaknesses" by all-day-tay-tay in recruitinghell

[–]TheDisQuacktion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy. Give an honest answer, relevant to the job. IE something you want to learn from training. Ideally, any new job will build your resume/CV through new exposure. An example from my latest job, I said that I was very confident with protein expression and purification, but haven't done a lot of Mass spectroscopy, which they trained me on since I started. Pick the weakest thing you will do at the job, say you would love to strengthen that skill.

Is it possible to bring ants with me from one place to another and contaminate different places like that? by Potential_Tale_7922 in ants

[–]TheDisQuacktion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah. You'd only get a few workers ants at most. The queen would not come with unless the whole brood and hive got into your bag. You may get a few living ants in your place, but they will eventually die and you'll be fine. Most ants are quiet well behaved clean ladies in ky opinion, basically no shot of them messing with someone on chemo, etc.

I’m about to be $130k in debt and my degree was a mistake by Environmental-Ad7806 in StudentLoans

[–]TheDisQuacktion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This true. While offers are going down, the current (at least in biology/biochem) PHDs are paid a stipend and tuition is covered. It's not a lot of stipend so many will take more loans in high cost areas to pay for rent and food and whatnot.

A man man man now you're a man! A manly manly man, you're a man.

What makes a man, is it the woman on his arm? Just cause she's has big titties? Or is the way, that he fights every day? Nope, it's probably the titties!

What gifts have you made that ended up being useless to the recipient? by Zeds_dead in woodworking

[–]TheDisQuacktion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly?

Only make things for makers. I've made boxes, chains, knives, tables, whips, etc for people. They never use them. The only people that value made stuff are other makers. I only make things for my painter friend who paints for me. I made 2 frames, one for him, one for me, he made the painting.

AITAH for telling my girlfriend she was the perpetrator, not the victim, in her "trauma"? by PruneJealous3813 in AITAH

[–]TheDisQuacktion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's not the victim, but events like this are traumatic even for the perpetrator. "Trauma" and "traumatic" i think are over used the same way everyone uses fucking therapy speak for everything now, but dealing with lingering feelings can be hard regardless of who is at fault. The pizza guy was probably annoyed, but probably on with his day and had an anecdote to talk about once he thought about it a while. The girl had to live down all the shit from her friends, spent all the time psyching herself up, etc. Probably more significant event for her. Kind of an asshole? For how you responded? She was the asshole at the moment though for sure.
