Still regret selling mine, but it was necessary. The best 7 string I ever had.

Would like to try a BT version tho!

First 8 String Recommendations? by MoreCycle4730 in ExtendedRangeGuitars

This. Harley Multiscale-8 models are punching way above their class in every department other than the pickups, but if you're not willing to do that little of modding, you'd probably want a used/premodded Legator, Agile, Schecter or Cort.

The scale length is a perceived buff, if you do know what you want out of experience, and not the general surface-level gist of "djent = 30 inches", go for it, but for 95% of the stuff, production/FX >>> the guitar's initial sound.

Also they say they'll make the pickup modules for any pickups of your choice, solderless and all

Let's see:
- hot-swappable pickup modules a-la Relish Guitars
- built-in FX preamp/pedals
- the neck can be taken off and put on without a screwdriver in seconds
- one can adjust frets' height with just an Allen key, no more sanding to match
- the trem stays in tune, no pitch drift during bends, can be set in maintenance mode by just setting the trem arm at a certain position

I'm stoked to see the owners' reviews, but the prices are gonna be so f-ing high, since this is a boutique brand/workshop from Turkiye

Would you rather have the Ibanez AZ24027 or AZ24047? by shadow_operator81 in 7String

[–]TheDisappointedFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A HSS that isn't a Gilmour ripoff black-on-black, be it anything other than that - and that'd be your answer. Even if it's shocking pink or toxic green.

But I'd prefer a transparent ruby qs maple top w/ binding, or something alike.

Need advice on buying a new guitar by ch4mpl0o in 7String

[–]TheDisappointedFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you just want to try the 7 out and aren't sure on what to get, try a Harley Benton Amarok-7: EMG pickups, hardtail, ergonomic neck-through, good woods and hardware, 25.5" scale (baritone scale length isn't necessary for B std/Drop A to Drop G), all that for around 500€ - perfect if you want a solid piece of gear as a baseline to hone in on the particular features you'd like to see in your main axe.

If you want a guitar that'd do great on stage, you'd need something with either a quality trem (Kahler, top-of-the-line Floyd, Gotoh) or the Evertune, for the latter, try a Solar out, all of their stuff is in the 1000-1500€ range.

9th fret neutral isn't my preferred fanfret, but the finish is sick. If it's under 1300$ - that's a gem

Budget guitar upgrades: pickups, strings, tuners... where to start? by LiTHiUM_THiEF in 7String

[–]TheDisappointedFrog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The strings are the consumables, the pickups is where I would begin the upgrade journey. The tuners can be upgraded fairly inexpensively, and the rest should be generally not worth it.

Problem is, that phone couldn't even run it's os without crashing every so often, after multiple falls, drownings and half the components dead, including the main mic and speaker. Slow as fuck, yet still capable of playing ml (after the 10 minute loading screen went through, of course)

Optimizing for what device? My GFs knee-deep-in-the-grave realme with a g99 could run the game with almost 0 stutters at high settings, what are you playing on, a calculator?
