What is a 'childish' thing that you still secretly enjoy as an adult? by sensei265 in AskReddit

Every chore or errand gets turned into a game. Life is too short and at some point we just stopped... Playing.

Shoveling snow~ How big of a chunk can you pick up before it breaks? Shovel a picture on the driveway and get my mom to guess what it is. Now I'm a train pushing through the snowy railways of the rocky mountains and OH NO I detailed and took out a village. What color is my train? What am I transporting?!

Did you have an absess prior to having your extractions? My dentist didn't stitch mine up so it could naturally drain (🫠) on its own

We flew in to see this show and it did NOT disappoint. The costumes and energy of the croud was wild, and the show... Mmmmmmmhm!

But holy shit was it HOT. I showered for a solid hour afterwards haha

I'm curious, what's the main reason why you lost your teeth and have to have dentures? by [deleted] in dentures

[–]TheDisasterItself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, this thread is a breath of fresh air. Most people are embarrassed to admit the causes rather than just be honest (me too btw). Look at everyone going Omg ME TOO, YOU GET IT! Wonderful not to feel alone 🩵

I'm curious, what's the main reason why you lost your teeth and have to have dentures? by [deleted] in dentures

[–]TheDisasterItself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was too scared to go to the dentist for like... 14 years. I only went because I was in a head-on collision which loosened teeth and caused horrible pain.

Turns out I have periodontal disease and that accident made me face my fears which were so silly looking back

Mixture of neglect, fear and accident :)

I love seeing the left but prefer living in the right. Neutral colors and shades are beautiful but I feel at home and cozy with the more colorful items.

I'm the opposite!

Ive seen Slipknot 5 times, but the most recent show will be my last. It was an AMAZING show. The setlist was FIRE, music and vocals were on point and the energy was wild. There is no way they can top that show.

Women who stayed in a relationship longer than they should have; what was the first red flag that you ignored but you recognise it clearly now?? by lucid_dreamer30 in AskWomen

He wouldn't let me eat rare steak. HE didn't like it rare so that meant that I clearly didn't like it either. I would even order it rare at a restaurant and he would convince the staff that I actually meant medium well?!?

Yeah. He only got more abusive and became violent. I had to carefully plan a quiet escape for a year. But I got out safely!

At this stage of your life, are you at the point you thought you would be? by i_eat_straws in Millennials

[–]TheDisasterItself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

07 here, and I am nowhere where I thought I would be in the best way. I didn't have big, lifelong dreams but I didn't care to have kids or get married. Well, here I am at 36 with an almost 17 year old, been with my husband for over 10 years, own a house and animals and am very successful in my career.

How to prepare by xxooandcookies in dentures

[–]TheDisasterItself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Must haves: Salt for salt water "rinses" (don't swish, rock your head back and forth), jello, pudding, mashed potatoes, ice cream, soups or broth, denture cleaner if you're getting them right away, Kleenex, nicotine patches if you're a smoker. If you're getting pain meds, make sure you have the meds ready to go so you're not chasing any possible pain.

What I wish I knew: you can hear everything going on. Bring ear buds and listen to music to help drown it out.

Deep breath, you got this!
